VC and Disgaea are not JRPGs.

If you can tell me an easily defined difference that keeps SRPGs from being a sub genre of JRPG then go right ahead.  But I don't think there is.

Strategy != Japanese.  To say otherwise is racist against non-Japanese.

well yeah, which is why SWRPG's and SJRPG's exist.  Most just end up to be SJRPG's.  Strategy RPG's are a specific battle system for W or JRPG's, not a different genre.

Look up the meaning of the word "genre" and see if you can still make this argument.

and I know the meaning of sub genre too, want me to tell you how I think JRPG and SRPG are related again, is it really that difficult?  My way is simple and makes logical sense.  And if you could just make an argument instead of condescendingly telling me to go do research it would be appreciated.

There is no argument to be made.  We have established and accepted genres such as WRPG, JRPG, T/SRPG, ARPG, and more.

I assumed you were arguing based on not understanding what a genre is or how they differ from one another.  Now I see you're arguing that they should work differently.  Good for you, however your personal beliefs don't matter.

Words cannot express how much I loathe you right now.

OK, so you just differentiated ARPG and JRPG, so then would you say that KH should not be included in a JRPG list such as this one?

also, give me a clear definition of JRPG.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

The definition of JRPG is a Role-playing game made in Japan, that's all that's to it. SRPGs are certainly a sub-genre coming of JRPGs. The only real difference is the gameplay, other than that they are exactly the same games...

Getting upset never helps anything.  If you feel like getting mad then take a deep breath and calm down.

Be clear about what you're asking here.  My personal opinion differs from the established norm as does yours.  The difference is that I recognize that my opinion != established/accepted norms.

My opinion is that Kingdom Hearts is an ARPG (as is the accepted one).

The widely accepted definition of JRPG is any RPG that comes out of Japan and doesn't fall into a more specific category (A/S/T...etc).  The more niche subgenres override the larger ones.  For example, Disgaea is recognized as an sRPG and not a jRPG.  Kingdom Hearts is an aRPG and not a jRPG.

My personal opinion is that RPGs should be classified by battle/character system.  jRPG is synonymous with turn-based RPG to me.  This is why it's so easy to distinguish jRPG, sRPG, and aRPG for me.  They all have widely different battle systems.  I haven't figured out a good test for wRPG yet though.

But how do you define "widely accepted or established" definitions. Here's some Wikipedia definitions.

jRPG - a Roll playing game from Japan or "the majority of console roll playing games"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JRPG
sRPG - This sub-genre of role-playing game principally refers to games which incorporate gameplay from strategy games as an alternative to traditional RPG systems.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRPG

All I have done is said that a game being a sRPG does not negate the fact that it also came from Japan.

All JRPG means is an RPG from Japan, and then there are separations within that.
