Anyway, wiki has GameCube listed at 21.74 million sold, and PS3 has passed this, so well done Sony!

Next milestone is the Xbox at 24 million

I wonder what the life time sales will be. If they can drop it to $200 down the road I bet it can hit 60 million.

 lol, it will do eventually. I think if they cut it to $300 in this year, they could easily get to around 40 million, but it will just keep getting cut - the pressures on Sony.

But what I find amazing, is how Sony started this gen, and how far they've come, they're easily going to beat the 2 consoles that came in 2nd and 3rd from last gen, with a console of $400. That is whats so amazing

Hmmm.... I disagree. I think everyone assumed the PS3 would dominate the market no matter the price. Granted MS and Nintendo wouldn't have been as successful at this price but the PS3 is still dead last in this gen. That's more amazing to me.

A lot of people doubted the PS3 very early on tbh. Not talking about this site, but there was a poll on another forum late 2006/early 2007 asking would the PS3 pass 10 million, most people voted no. But I dont know, they probably just idiots.

But it doesnt really matter, the PS3 IS doing well, its just when you compare it to the other 2 its not doing so well, but it is right behind the 360 at double the price, Sony needs to announce it for $300 at E3 to spark things up.

Next up: Xbox (24m), then Sega Megadrive/Genesi(31m), and Nintendo 64 (33m).

It will be interesting to see if the PS3 can beat the SNES (49 million).
