Forums - Nintendo - Capcom tells why no Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on wii

ok let me get this clear. MvC2 is going to be download only and will not be on retail shelves. Awesome. However they will not be brining it to the Wii because of the Wii Ware 40MB limit size(agree that this is a BS move on Nintendo part).

I call Sven and other companies big BS and lazy. Big offense to these developers, but this is what you do. 40mb the main exe(which is probably only about 5-10mb) and a handful of the main gui. The WiiWare informs the purchaser that they need at 350mb room on an SDCard. Then when the player run the game it informs the player it is going to DOWNLOAD the resources straight to your SD card. See easy, avoids Nintendos BS 40mb limit. Resources are an easy transfer of byte[] data.

Also I clearly recall that Nintendo has accounced that companies should not have to worry about DLC content anymore. Well just make the resources DLC content. done, easy fix.

Sven continues with his BS campaign.

Yes it's more work, but not that much.
Socket Connection to IP addres 10 lines of code
Authenication of program and user 50lines
byte resources downloader 100lines
streaming sd resource saver 50lines

referencing external data. that would depend if they used a resource manager or call the resources direct. If they uses a resource manager it would take no more than a few lines to redirect the core resource location.

so less than a few hundred lines of code they could get it on the Wii.

agg console developers are so creativly lazy.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

That sucks! Still I guess they don't want to invest too much money on it...which sucks even more...It will suck the most if they don't AT LEAST bring Tatsunoko vs Capcom outside Japan.

The more I hear it the more it sounds like bullshit.

They have rights to distribute the game but no right to make copies?

That must be some loop hole they found.

No, that is not it. They have the right to distribute through online, but not retail.

They are working on that right now.

Nah, that's what they say they are doing. 2 completely different things.

Usual Capcom PR.

Okay, essentially calling them liars isn't really a counter to that. They said they want the game out, and are trying their best. If they eventually make it happen, will you admit you were wrong?

No ****, Capcom.

Since MVC2 probably won't be coming until at least the next Nintendo system's download service, I wonder if the other MVC games, X-Men: Children of the Atom, & Marvel Super Heroes are possible to be released for the VC Arcade?
