Transformers 2, enough said about this topic. The original Transformers was last summer's blockbuster other than The Dark Knight.

Transformers 2 was from the summer before. Last summer was Iron Man/Indiana Jones4/Hancock as well as Dark Knight.

Transformers 2 will be huge no doubt but it's right near the bottom of movies I'm interested in seeing(unless it's a massive improvement on the first one). I'll no doubt be dragged along to this a few weeks after it comes out. If i'm going to criticize something I might as well see it first

Actually we were both wrong because according to your post/reply you said "Transformers 2 was from the summer before..."

Your actually wrong Transformers 2 hasn't even yet the theaters, so you must of meant the original Transformers

And while on topic, I actually went to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine and liked every minute of it. It won't be the summer hit but it certainly is to hold us over till Transformers 2!

lol..I'm pretty sure you knew I meant the first transformers movie you naughty boy!

After seeing the Transformers 2 trailer in front of Star Trek today I can definitely say I will NOT be seeing it. It looks even dumber than the first one. Hugh Jackman & Liev Schreiber were great in Wolverine but it was a very average movie. My hopes were too high maybe.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

I had sky high expectations for Star Trek...it managed to surpass them by a fair margin :)
Anyone remotely familiar with the original series should dig it. It's fast paced but not at the expense of character development (although the characters are already developed in most people's heads already). At the half way point on the Ice planet, the story gets some weight behind it and the nostalgia element goes into overdrive. Goosebumps ahoy!
I'm so glad at least one big summer movie this year isn't dumbed down and left me feeling like i'd just watched something with substance.

Just watched Star Trek with the fam.
It was very entertaining and fun - a very good movie. Loved the characters and the actors all did a great job.
I don't know why Tylor Perry and Wyona decided to do this movie - they both had very small role.
Sylar did a good job as young Spock and Chris Pine did a superb job.

JJ Abrams did a fab job as usual.
I like the fact the history is totally changed now so every adventure will be new.

I'm sure they'll milk this for a while.
Go see it!

I guess two things i was not comfortable with are
fighting sequences where the camera shakes so much
and the presence of Trekkies at the theater.

that's all - rest is awesome.

Now that I think about it transformers and terminator have a good shot. Also Star Trek.

Saw previews of both terminator and Transformers and I think
terminator will be far better movie.

Megan Fox looked hot on that trailer.I still feel unease about Terminator since I miss Arnie.

Star Trek made $30m Friday - that's with Thursday night showing as well. So it's not as big as Wolverine, but the word of mouth will keep this movie going.
wolverine, in it's second Friday lost 75% of business from last week brining in only $8.4m.

Star trek probably will make $70m this weekend.

Star Trek made $76,500,000 this weekend - not as good as Wolverine, but I think it'll made more money at the end.

Star Trek: $76.5m
Wolverine: $129.6m
