Not to mention that Itagaki hates PlayStation or Sony in general, and didn't even work on Sigma.

On topic: Wow at the NG2 footage. The claws were my favorite weapon in the video. If I had a 360 I'd probably get this on release day. 

 matters what your talking about, sales vs hardware. Itagaki dropped development on the PS2 to focus on the Xbox. Now tell me if that made sense since DOA sold way better on the PlayStation.

Lol, no, I'm not complaining.  I think it looks like silly, mad, crack-addicted fun.  I just don't see how this will get "only" an M rating.  Yeah, gears was gory but nothing like this.  Those were "aliens" being blasted which seems to be OK with the raters.  It seems to be OK to dismember zombies, too.  When it comes to disembowling, severing limbs, cutting off heads, etc. of other humans, the ESRB will probably step in.

There are a few really cool touches in the game.  I especially like how he gives his weapon a quick shake at the end of the battle to shake off the blood.  I also liked the "auto heal" but it appears that you lose "maximum" health as you get beat on.  Interesting way to implement a health bar.

Chalk up a win for microsoft if this indeed becomes/stays exclusive.

Soon it won't matter, though, as I'll have a PS3 also and exclusives won't matter. 

It's amazing what you consider a troll. As amazing as you feel Heavenly Sword is, go look at how amazing Ninja Gaiden was on Xbox. Heavenly Sword can be 6 hours of nice graphics and sound and good gameplay. Ninja gaiden 2 can be 20+ hours of amazing gameplay and good graphics. I'm pretty sure if the original had better gameplay, barring some incredible miracle, NG 2 should have the same superior fighting.

Just as a reference, Heavenly Sword is amazing the way people may feel Resistence is an amazing FPS. It's a nice fun game, but remember the next Bioshock/Oblivion/Gears of War (aka NG2) of it's genre will come along and show what a great game really is. A game that won't languish in low 80s scores, almost falling into the 70s, but a game that will rival the top 10 or 15 games of all time.

You have to admit than in an industry like this you cannot trust anyone, I have ninja gaiden sigma, same game your talking about with prettier graphics, but heavenly sword is just on par in my opinion the length is the only problem.

Im starting to lose trust in alot of sites, gametrailers is loosing my trust...

No if we belive the translator he sayed "Pleas enjoy the wolds best action game running on the worlds most powerful hardware, the XBox 360." Of course he is just selling his game, and since its the best the system its on must be the best too.

A few things.

1. There will definitely be a demo, there is a demo of almost any significant game on 360 and this is one of the biggest.

2. I expect summer/Fall release in Japan for this and here in the US before 08 is up.

3. It isn't a huge graphical leap from NGS that much is clear, but it is a proper sequel which is worth more to a NG fan than the looks of the game, plus lots of new stuff obviously.

4. I agree that NG series have the best combat in any action game, and DMC series is the second best, but Heavenly Sword has good combat too.

Most importantly, if you guys watched the presentation, you would see there is a statue of liberty level there in the level selection, can you imagine fighting on top of that???? That would probably look stunning.

 Listen, I know sometimes we feel a game is better than a lot of sites say.  I happen to think Doom 3 is a masterpiece and probably the most fun I've ever had in a game and it also single handedly got me back into gaming in 05'.  I'm also not naive enough to trust my judgement on that particular game because of my feelings for it in comparison to popular opinion. 

I'm just saying this from an outsiders perspective, if you start with the "I'm losing trust in site's reviews" angle that everybody uses when a game they like doesn't score high enough, people aren't going to take you seriously.  Surely you can see there's a definite set pattern in the reviews of Heavenly Sword in particular, just as there was with Bioshock.  They both set into a certain % rating and have hardly wavered since.   Most sites description of it's pros and cons seem to be mostly the same too.

Maybe a few months from now you'll have a better perspective of the game.  Perhaps Heavenly Sword is just the Gears of War (sans Multiplayer) of the PS3.  More emphasis on cenematic and sound experiences, and not enough on gameplay and length.  

Always wait awhile before you set your opinion on a game, it's rarely as good as you initially think it is.  

On a different note, since you feel Ninja gaiden and Heavenly sword are equal in gameplay and the only difference is the length.  In your opinion, why do you think one game was at about 94% and the other is currently at 81.5%?  Just the length or something more?
