No blood, well what the f--k is happening then? Robots, hence the robotic trenchcoat? ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

3rd party Wii Games "Wii can't do anything right"

Damn it if we never get a bloody disgusting and horrible ninja sword Kill Bill blood squirting game of awesomeness.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

They said it was for a T rating. Yes, the M rated first one still sold well, but that was a choice.

And there aren't that many HD games that are as gory as you described. But doesn't Madworld fit that anyway?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

yes it does but i still imagine the potential of using a Wm+ ninja sword to decapitate or cut off hands or arms that are holding guns, etc.

Call me sick but sharpening a pencil at E3 gave me other ideas

From NeoGaf:

The article is fairly general and focused on the change in setting and what not, there is a lot of "we can't talk about that yet". I also haven't sat down and read it yet, just skimming.

-1st person, cell shaded, like I said, similar to XIII,
-going for teen rating so, "The gore just doesn't fit for us and what we're trying to do"
-No multiplayer
-exclusively Wii Motion Plus
-talk of dual wielding Gun and sword but nothing definitive

So Red Steel 2 w/MotionPlus bundle is looking likely as MotionPlus is NEEDED for this title. Also no multiplayer, the team wanted to focus on the single player component and they actually completely changed direction when MotionPlus was first revealed.

Most Interesting part I think is the possibility for dual wielding gun and sword :D

I suggest they change the title to "Red Steel 2: Absolutely Nothing To Do With Red Steel."

Not that I have any problems with this--other than the disappointing lack of multiplayer--I just find it funny that the common ground between this game and the original Red Steel appears to be just a gun and a sword.

I maybe wrong here as it's that long since I played it but isn't Red Steel mainly about the sword?  that gives them a lot of poetical licence as they could choose to follow the story after the first ended, skip back to it's origins, spin offs about the sword maker etc.

Actually, that may be the very reason they went with a T rating. Remember Manhunt 2? No, I don't mean if it's any good. I mean the AO rating from being too immersive in the violence.

Red Steel 1 had 2-player multiplayer; why wouldn't this one?

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Red Steel 1 actually had 4 player split screen multiplayer. This one doesn't have it becasue the dev team want to focus more on the single player game

No multiplayer means no buy, and frankly, no sales.

Come on, what are they expecting, people buying a singleplayer-only FPS instead of renting?

Beat Red Steel, but never played multiplayer. I dont care for it. I am glad they are concentrating on the the single player.
