Forums - Sales - Any idea on how Heavely Sword is doing in this first few days of sales?

@Jimmay, oh yes because we are all saying its short because its a Sony game and not because its frikkin short.

If Mario turns out to be this short trust me, I'll be the first talking it down and demanding some bastard at Nintendos head.

Game is short, let it go Jimmay.

You can cry about it all you want 7-13 hours worth of gameplay for this genre of game is not short.

But Gears of War is longer than Heavenly Sword.

Gears was beaten, mamed and decapitated because the campaign was less than 10 hours on the first play through. Are you going to tell me now that Gears of War isn't short?

No, i didnt think gears of war was short. It was just right in my opinion.

Gears was just right, HS shorter than gears, HS is not right.

Gears of War was pretty short... but it had a lot of replayability because of co-op. HS doesn't have anything to expand it's replayability other than a harder difficulty mode. It's also not a 7-13 hour game. It's a 6-8 hour game (depending on how bad you are). If we are rating the game based on it's value for it's cost, that's pretty crappy for $60. Basically you are paying $10 per hour of entertainment.

Don't get me wrong. The game is fun. My buddy rented it and we went to town on the game over the course of a night, but the fact is that we sat down and beat it in... in one sitting. Neither of us had any particular desire to replay it, and we quickly went back to playing Warhawk (which I'm becomming addicted to). When you have 50GB of storage available to you, there is no excuse for a 6 hour game.

Metroid Prime 3 is a 21 hour game (for me anyway), and it offers a higher difficulty after you beat it (just like HS), along with a whole bunch of achievements that you will need to play through extra times to unlock. That's on an 8.5 GB (max) DVD-9. I think when you are talking about a single player game there is really no excuse for it being less than 15 hours. God of War was already pushing it in length for it's price, and I'm glad I waited until it was $20 to buy it. This is just way too short to be a reasonable value, and it's sales will reflect that. There will be so many returns that people will just buy used copies and sales are going to suck.

Sigh, heavenly sword has the replayablity of getting all 129 style points. The fact that you did not mention that only goes to show you dont even own the game. Getting all 129 takes roughly 13 hours.

I give up, this is like arguing with a brick wall.

Lets get this topic back onto HS sales eh?

I don't own the game... I don't even own a PS3.  I told you my friend rented it and we sat down and beat it.   I'm assuming you are refering to the fact that Style Points earn Glyphs which unlock things.  That's true, but you can get all the Glyphs on one playthrough if you want.  It doesn't add any extra replayability.  I admit we didn't bother trying to get all of them, but that still leaves you with a pretty short game.

Just because you CAN get all the glyphs on the first play through doesnt mean you WILL get all the glyphs on the first play through. Infact out of the 129 possible i bet most gamers didnt even manage to get 100. Going back and getting all the glyphs adds replayability and makes the game last roughly 13 hours.

How old are you Jimmay?

It's a short game, glyphs don't really add replay value, its just busy work. Even then 13 hours is still a short game. The fact that your original argument isn't the same as your current argument proves you're not willing to own up to being wrong and will argue until the end of time.

According to your current argument I can say Metroid Prime 3 is at least a sixty hour game.

To me collecting everything or trying to get as close to everything is playing normally, but then again i forgot we live in a world where people just want to do the minimum to get by.

It's hard to hear you down here from that giant soapbox you're standing on. What are you, 14? Seriously, get over yourself.

So, anybody know how that Heavenly Sword is selling? ;)
