They didn't because the first plan was placed by a Canadian, and they were worried because he was generally conservative and the US and UK were affronted that a Canadian could win the "Final glory" in the Western Front.

While Patton suggested the same thing a little latter... and the UK still took offense to someone not the UK taking it.

Leaving it to Russia who didn't have to worry about who got the credit was the best "compromise".

 

They did realize what russia was and would become though.  The best was Patton who suggested that they "Head straight for Berlin and don't stop until they were in Moscow". 

That it would be a waste to have such a large powerful army collected and to not "Finish the job."

The thing is, the Germans WANTED the allies to get to Berlin before the Russians. You kill off 20 million of a nation's population, most of them civilians, and then be threatened to be conquered by that same nation. I read somewhere, american history 11th grade, that the Germans were moving troops from the west to the east, as many as possible, so that the allies could reach Berlin first. Even given that, they failed miserably.

It kinda does though.  It tests your "reasoning" skills which are developed through school... and argueable more important then anything you'd learn below a college level.

I mean if you look at "Average IQs across the world" it correlates pretty readily with school system ratings.

 

 

IQ doesn't mean shit. The one person who took it in my family, my mother. Took one IQ test after the other. On the 2nd one she got 35 points higher than she did on the first to be just shy of 180. IQ tests don't measure shit, they ae even far more easily practiced for and usless than the SATs.

Occassionally I end up fucking one of those redneck chicks which are too stupid to realize I really only need her for one thing and that they would never get anything more than that out of me. Problem is I run into those people more often here than I do elsewhere. And I agree with Kasz, if you are smart here you are also smart elsewhere no matter where you are from. The problem is that here, the growth stems from the immigrants who ere educated elsewhere. Not saying there are no smart people in the US at all, there's just a greater proption of stupid, or more likely, uneducated people here than other places.

P.S. You sure as hell can't so easily manipulate people in ex- soviet nations. They've been trained too will and well call bullshit on you the moment you start pulling manipulative shit on them. Blame communism.

Oh yeah.  It wasn't that they failed.  It's just they didn't want to succeed really.  Why waste the blood, money and all that.  They were perfectly content moving along very slowley and taking there time.

Which was really a disaster... it just caused way more damage in germany then needed to happen.  Had they said "Screw it, lets get there first!" they could of avoided a lot.  Like the firebombing of Dresden for example. 

Which was the biggest pointless attack the western allies made.

They just couldn't be bothered.  It was a disgrace really.

That is a pretty sad picture right there...Especially since nowadays scientists are saying that 110-120 should be the average iq for a human o.O .

Good thing that iq doesn't really mean a damn thing or else everyone would've been depressed.
