Well, I could give two craps in a fountain.  Me, a racist?  Yeah, right.  I live in a state that predominantly voted for Hilary in the primary and for John Mccain in the general election.   And where out of 10,000 people living in the county where I live and where there were six Mccain / Palin signs lined up in a row as soon as you hit the main road to head down to to the main polling station, I was one of only 800 people to vote for Obama.  Yeah, that makes me a big racist.

However, when someone goes out of their way to insult the greatest country on earth and its people's level of intelligence, then I will do the same thing.  And, I'm not going to be all pc and nicey-nicey about it.

So why is it that in the computing, math, and physics international olympiads the Americans aren't at the top, sometimes far from it? In fact the best they perform in, the math one, more than half the team is made up of immigrants or children of immigrants.

 Hell, son, except for the Native Americans going back to the 15th century, we're all immigrants or descendants of immigrants in this country.

  Now, tell me why you immigrants that come over here to complain about the USA don't stay at home if the USA is so awful that you feel like putting it down every chance you get.  One would think you would stay over in Europe.

Not to add insult to injury, but the US is severly behind in the education front. In fact, it is in a dire need to ramp up its education system or risk losing its status of a world power in the same way the Romans did; not primarily due to barbarians (or terrorists), not due to inner-conflicts, and not even due to incompetency solely, but a combination of all of the above. Basically, deterioratiing within itself.

American is severly behind in the language department (particularly in reading comprehension), behind in science (the majority still don't believe in evolution), and the best position that we are in the world, which is mathematics, we are in 32nd place! The top countries in all subjects are either Northern European (like Finland and Norway) or Asian countries like Japan.

If America falls behind in all of these categories, generations from now the future leaders of America will basically be incompetents compared to other leaders, be taken advantage of and slowly destroy itself.

Of course, this is basically a cycle that repeats itself throughout history; once you are in the top, the youth doesn't feel like they have to do much to stay healthy, wealthy and happy, so they work less and less with their body and esp. the brains, and screw the future generations until their nation collapses within itself. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

When someone reaches the top, they usually get fat, lazy, and complacent.  And I think you could say that about America and the American people.  Although, I think the country has finally shifted gears and is no longer stalled in neutral as it has been for quite awhile.

The America people seem to think so too.  The right direction/wrong track numbers have gone up from in the area of 18% v. 81% since last year up to 42% v. 50% this year.  That's a fundamental change.

Ummm...why would I want to see that? Despite the future generations are achieving less, the Universities and higher education of a leading power will still be good...like Harvard and Yale. Problem is that they will soon, unfortunately, someday produce graduates who are less prepared for the real world, knowing fewer communication venues such as fewer languages and be out competed by those who are more hungry.

All I am stating is the inevitable. Don't be scared and insecure...I am sure you are fully prepared for life in your smaller world. I am talking about the world stage, where in the future (which is years, possibly decades or even centuries to come) the new generation of Americans who are prepared to lead the world will be fewer, less intelligent yet more arrogant than ever before. These things happen. The only thing that can slow down the process is education revamps, something Obama is planning to do...that of course will take a lot of time.

We come here, leech your money, then take it with us back to Europe. That's my plan anyhow. US has the money but nothing worth spending it on, nor the people. Europe doesn't have the money, but just about everything else. The solution then is simple, get the money in the US and spend it in Europe.

I am sorry, but that is just silly. It is the opposite. Europe has the money, but it is expensive there. US currency is cheaper, but has stuff. So you should get the money from there, come here and leech off of products sold over here (because you can get more for less) and then go back. That sounds like a better plan.

Let me rephrase that. It's easier to get money from here with which to buy the expensive things there, than it is to get the money there to spend them there. The salaries there are just smaller. I'm well aware of the fact that the currency is stronger. For what I am doing, I will get paid a hell of a lot more here than I would over there. And by "stuff" I meant higher quality stuff, like food. I can get tons of McD's in comparison here, but that's not exactly good food. When all the "stuff" is added up the lifestyle overall is better in Europe.

Edit: Actually if you compare the cost of food of the same quality from here, it would cost just as much, if not more, than what it would cost in Europe.
