"I've always wondered why this question is so hard to answer. The purpose of life is to procreate. It's the same for every other organism on earth. I mean, really. There's all this debate and I just don't understand it."
You cannot be serious! Somebody who choose not to have kids or just can't have kids is living a life without meaning? Is it really that what you are saying? If that is they case I disagree

I agree with Montana Hatchet, but I included in my post:
For humans, I like to think we are different in that we can also better our species through social and technological achievement.

People without kids aren't fullfilling the biological purpose.
But who's to say there isn't other purposes?
This is fact: The meaning of life is reproduction and survival.
People who don't do those things don't have a life without meaning, but they do have a life without the meaning that nature gave us.

I already stated my point: the meaning of life cannot be the same for you and me. That is why nobody can answer that question for anybody else.
Now, I am not sure that I fully understand what you are saying.
As long as a human being (every human being) can better the species through reproduction, social interaction and/or enjoying technology he or she would be living a meaningful life? Life means to reproduce, interact socially and enjoy technological achievements? So without reproduction, social interaction or the technological achievements life means nothing? Is that what you are saying? Please, correct me if I got it all wrong.

I think the meaning of life is the same for everyone (and every living thing for that matter), but people have personal desires (religion, entertainment, whatnot) that they confuse as being the meaning of their lives.
Unlike other animals, humans dont have to reproduce to improve our species. Without reproducing, a squrriel doenst help his species out at all. But a human who doesnt reproduce can invent technology, interact socially, and otherwise be a contributive member of society and lead a meaningful life.
Reproduction is still important though. If humans stopped reproducing then we would die out and everything we have done would be for nothing.

One thing is the meaning of life and something different is the objective of life. Your answer is perfectly reasonable if the question would have been what is the objective of life. But I understand something different by its meaning.
What about people with family, normal social life and enough money to enjoy a modern life going to the psychiatric because they find no meaning in their lives? How is that possible?
Most of the claims of people with suicidal tendencies are that they find their life meaningless. And how come countries with such high economical standards have so many suicides?
