After defeating the first blue eyes in 1-1, at the top of the left tower, you'll get acess to the first fog gate in 1-1. In there you'll go do a flight of stairs and go into a corridor which has in the end an doorway closed by oil barrels and a firethrowing soldier inside which can kill you if you aren't careful. Before going into that hallway, right next to the end of the stairs, there is a gap in which you can look down a see the platform where Ostrava was looking for help. Just hop over to it and there you'll find the Thief's Ring

You should try to do a Barbarian character then, no magic, no ranged, just pure melee xD. 

Got the friends ring by myself. Now all I need to learn is:

Relief from Yuria [Pureblood Demon Soul]
And the Yellow Demon Soul Miracle from Sage Urbain.

Then comes the hard part... Getting a pure blade stone. Any body got a spare?

I finished playthrough 1. The final boss was pathetic. The bosses on NG+ are definitely harder (well, actually, Phalanx was pathetic).

But Armor Spider and Flamelurker were harder.

I did actually consume Armor Spider's soul by accident and so the Lava Bow will have to wait. Im so stupid.

Im just beating bosses for the moment and then I will go farming.

Yeah, I wanted to start some themed characters, so the monk would only use faith-based weapons (blessed mace, Phosphorescent Pole, hands of god, etc.) and maybe a few faith abilities.

So, that won't be too hard, since it will be melee + a few non-offensive faith skills. Then I'll make the fists-only character. No rings, items, weapons, or armor too. Haha, I'm sure that will be next to impossible, and yet extremely fun for me to even attempt =)

Dragon God will be a fun fight, and I'll obviously have to use something on Storm King, but I think it's doable (except maybe 5-2 and 5-3, not sure how I would manage with that).

Maybe I'll start those characters up right now even.

All i need now is one blade stone chunk and one pure blade stone. How long does it usually take to get this drop? My luck's at 45 and i'm using the large sword of seaching... i've been here for about 30 mins now.

hum, that explain why my charatcer tendency seems to be pretty "black" ....

also, if you are +60% on black tendency then it should be easier to make the quest of this guy AFTER killing hyena ?? (not meet mephisto yet)

question :

can u kill dragon in close combat ? or have u to use spell/arrow ?

because the one in 1-4, after the penetrator, is seriously blocking me with his flame ....

Well, in order to meet mephisto you'll have to be at least 90% black, which will make the statue in the center of the shrines in the Tendency menu look completely obscured. So you'll have to kill another merchant at least in order to complete it, or kill Old King Doran.

You cannot kill the Blue Dragon by melee, since even if you run through his flame, he'll just fly to another building, blocking the stairway acessing the Tower to False King Allant. Your best bet is to kill him with the Bow and use hyper mode (Clever Rat Ring + <30% HP).

First are you on pure black world tendecy and are you fighting the appropriate Black Phantom Black Skeleton? The one near the Old Monk archstone, right before you exit the cave which houses the last Reaper?
Even with that luck it will make no impact whatsoever in the % of the drop, since luck only affects how many items are dropped. Plus the Large Sword of Searching only ups random stone drop %, so it can be having no effect on Bladestones.

Spawn at 4-3. Run back past the slugs. Kill the reaper. First back phantom with two katana. Soulsucker him. Pureblack world tendancy.

So.... the sword doesn't help at all?? [also wish I new about the luck having no affect... atleast my blueblood sword will do some serious magic damage now...]

You must perserve, it's just a matter of being lucky that's all. I've seen people wasting two hours getting the Pure Bladestone, while me and a friend of mine got it on the second try. It's that damn 2% drop chance >_
