You can also trade a gold mask or the moonlight sword to the hawk girl in 4-1 for them. When she asks you for shiny things just drop one of them and then load the game and she should have left you a colorless demon soul.

I'm doing Tower of Latria 3-2 and I was going down the steps to get the Gold Mask. Anyways, I ran into a gargoyle and a ugly thing, don't know what it's called.

Gargoyle knocked me off the ledge and I fell all the way down, then through the first floor, then I fell through the next after that, then I fell through the swamp area, then I just kept on falling though nothing but a grey screen. Eventually I finally died.

So I have beaten 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 3-1, 4-1 and 5-1.. I have given Ed the red hot demon's soul. Anyone have any advice? Should I wait to forge a weapon, or should I forge one now? And if so, which one? I am a knight, and my long-sword is +6, but I'm not sure for how long it's gunna cut it.

actualy its gold mask and talisman of god but you need to kill at least 1 primeval for him to offer you the spell

Do I need to defeat Old Monk before I can be summoned by him?

Being summoned by Old Monk is awesome.

I put on my Gloom Gear and 2-handed my Dragon Bone Smasher, stood on the left side of the entry way and hit this noob right as he walked in. He slid all the way across the room.

He panicked and kept trying to run. I hit him again and won. Spoiled his game.

I got a Monk's Head Wrappings for it too which is cool.

Tried to buy this today, and was totally out of luck. Went to three different game stores and all were sold out. Damn you atlus and your niche RPGs! I will get it as soon as I can find it though.

Level 3-3 boss, Old Monk, summons a black phantom to fight for him. If you play online, the boss will be a human opponent, if you play offline it will be the CPU.

If you place a black stone symbol in 3-3 (against the wall by the archstone, at the bottom of the steps), you will be summoned as the boss of that stage, with your objective being to kill the player and prevent him from advancing.

Then you can send him a message on PSN and laugh at him if you wish.

The item you get, "Monk's Head Wrap", significantly raises your magic attack power while significantly lowering your magic defense.

damn, I feel like a big dummy when it comes to this game, hopefully some of ya can clear it up. So far I'm in 2-1.

-How do I get magic?
-Besides shields, I have yet to come by any equipment for my thief, no blacksmith is selling clothes. Also, I like my Dagger (its fast + can swing alot without losing much stamina), is there more weapons along those lines or are the rest big slow swords that I see people wielding?
-For some reason, when I try to level up my strength, my attack power won't increase yet when I increase my dexterity, my attack power does increase. What's up with that?

This game is very fun and addicting but the fact that I'm so lost when it comes to how the deeper mechanics of the game works is taking some of the fun out (very little though).
