I have a European 60 gb witch BC, why not look for that model?

I encourage u...many are interested with Elite Bundle 360 which is also impressive..but if u want somethin that can impress in the long run..u mite want to buy one.

The one I use is Hong Kong. Each region gets access to different demos at different times.

The one I use to buy stuff on is my own region.

Given the price differences you listed and the stuff included with the US 60Gb one, I'd say go for it.

Yes, there have been more YLoD with the US 60Gb model but the chance of it breaking down is still quite low and the possibility of having it not break down (and thus having full US PS2 B/C), MGS and The FFXIII demo bundle pretty much balance the chance of it breaking down within a year and you having to send it for repair without warranty.
