Forums - General - Highlander 5: The Source....

Until last night I didn't even know they made a Highlander 5 movie.  I was flicking though the channels last night on my Sky box and it was just starting.  I though Highlander 5, I watch this... (being a really big fan of the first movie).

And what a lot of rubbish it turned out to be.  It's a about a brunch of immortals who group together and go search for The Source and the meaning of why their immortal but along the way thier is another immortal thats trying to stop them called the guardian, his aim is to protect the Source, but it seems he also wants to be the only one and goes about killing each immortal one by one.  They are some back story about why the source is there and why immortals want it etc...

The world at this point is really messed up, with city burning, people killing other people and gangs of thugs roaming the land.  But this film is really Rubbish and does not do justice to the first film at ALL.

In my view the first Higlander film is the best and is the only one highlander film to watch.  THe other highlander movies were just plain stupid, the second one made it so that the immortals came from another planet and not God's choosen ones.

I give Highlander 5 a whooping 2/10

I believe it was a made for TV movie unless I am mistaken.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

On BBC1, yeah usually films on BBC1 have some calibur, but that was just shit

It does suck... but i mean if you haven't seen the TV show. It wasn't going ot make sense anyway.

Wonder what ever happened to that Highlander videogame.

There can be only one literally and its the first film

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I didn't mind the TV series to be honest (used to watch it back in the day).  But the movies 2 to 5 all sucked big time...

The one thing to come out of highlander was the cracking sound track done by Queen and listening to the guardian in highlander 5 sing is just plain wrong...
