I'm with the majority. Valkyria >>> ToV

You didn't even play ToV.

I got it via GameFly, and I want to return it already. I find the story very boring. It has an interesting setting, but it's poorly executed with its cliches. Gameplay is good, but I prefer SO4's battle system.

Vesperia? Boring, cliche, bad execution?

We didn't play the same Vesperia. Make sure on the box it says "Vesperia" and not " Symphonia" or "Radiata Story" or anything of the such.

Oh come on, outside of Yuri, most of the characters were pretty cliche. But thats not a bad thing, as Vesperia does all those things very well.

But the same could be said about some of Valkyria Chronicle's characters and storyline (though there were very well done). Man lets not turn this into a Vesperia vs Valkyria thread/war. Both games were awesome so lets leave it at that.

I know! I'm just saying to not act like someone can't think your favorite game is as awesome as you think.

Really, only Karol and Estelle(maybe Flynn) could be considered cliche, even then they were cliche in only minor ways. Even the supporting cast in Don Whitehorse, Clint, Yeager, Doite, Nan, Tison, and other weren't cliches. Note, that I never said you couldn't think VC is better then Vesperia. However, I'm going to defend Vesperia against wrongful accusations.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I understand. But Vesperia was still awesome dammit.

Yes, VC also had its cliches and predictable plot; to be honest, I didn't like the plot in VC that much, but I did like the characters mainly because of the potentials. I particularly loved the non-main characters more than the good main characters. ToV pretty much feels like its predecessors. Good for fans, bad for those who didn't like the previous installments like me.

I'm only about 8 hours in ToV.

No wonder. Believe me there are many people who did not like the tales series that much before but ended up loving ToV. Just keep playing and you will see just how different ToV is from its predecessors. The cast of characters becomes awesome, the storyline becomes very deep and mature and the combat system becomes very addictive. Just give it more time. What part of the storyline are you now on?

The last time I played it, I was on a ship and saved Ider or something like that. How long is the game anyways?

Thats about 6 hours in on my ex game. Its practically right after you first meet Flynn. You didn't even get 1/3 of the way through.

60 to 65 hours not including sidequest.
