i hated fps for the longest time. up until about 2 years ago. i never really played them because they just seemed dumb. it wasn't until i actually started playing an fps (halo 2), that other genres got boring for me. i was a rpg and platformer kind of guy. i hate rpg's of any kind now outside of pokemon because i realized the characters were just as generic as fps and the stories never have appealed to me, but the big thing was gameplay is much too slow to be fun now which is why i enjoy fps. it's like how i like basketball a lot more than baseball because of how quick paced basketball is. platformers dropped a little in my liking but they're still fun

I don't hate the good games within the genre but I hate the saturation of the genre on HD consoles. I also hate dual-analog.

yes the fail to evolve wheres the blind fire and cover systems there re all the same as the mid 90's FPS

Don't hate them, but I'm not really into them either. I liked Half-Life (/2) and No One Lives Forever a lot, also was playing quite a lot of Unreal Tournament in the past... maybe I'll also get Bioshock after all, since I kinda enjoyed the demo... but all in all, nowadays, I barely play them anymore.

The word hate is very overused on this site. I don't imagine many people would hate FPS, but a lot would be bored of them or uninterested.

I love them now though, thanks to Rainbow Six Vegas, CoD4, and Killzone 2

I used to spend countless hours on Counter Strike but this new generation of fps that comes on 3 platforms is more or less junk with few exceptions.
