i hated fps for the longest time. up until about 2 years ago. i never really played them because they just seemed dumb. it wasn't until i actually started playing an fps (halo 2), that other genres got boring for me. i was a rpg and platformer kind of guy. i hate rpg's of any kind now outside of pokemon because i realized the characters were just as generic as fps and the stories never have appealed to me, but the big thing was gameplay is much too slow to be fun now which is why i enjoy fps. it's like how i like basketball a lot more than baseball because of how quick paced basketball is. platformers dropped a little in my liking but they're still fun
