Forums - Nintendo - What Kind of warranty comes with Wii / DS(i)?

     I am starting this forum just because I want to ask a question about the type of warranty that comes with Wii and DSi.  The 360 gives you the opportunity to buy a 3 year warranty for it from Microsoft for $50.00 (at least it did when I bought mine).  The PS3 only comes with a 1 year warranty and if you want an extended warranty, you have to buy it from the store where you purchased it.

     What kind of warranty comes with Wii and DS(i)?

Around the Network

Standard 1 year.

You have to BUY the 3 year warranty for the X360! seriously?... I thought they extended it to 3 years for free..... or does that not apply to any new models.

Either way, you need the warranty for the X360, the Wii and PS3 are far more reliable.... and if you really want to spend money on a warranty get one from whatever store you buy it from instead.

@TWRoO

the 3 year warranty he is talking about extends the normal warranty. The X360 3 year only covers RRoD and related issues (E74)

If you want an extended warranty on the Wii/DS you have to buy a BestBuy/EBGames or whoever else extended warranty.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

It's a Nintendo warranty, you're basically covered for 3 years anyway :P

A good one.
Not 100% sure what it is, but when my Wii broke twice outside the "1 year warrenty", they replaced it for free twice with the best service I've ever had.
