It says this pixar film is to be released in 2011, but I just dont understand why they choose Cars to be given a sequel!

I mean, its the 3rd least grossing pixar movie out of 9 ( and bugs life and toy story had a much smaller budget so it was the least profitable) and it has the worst average review scores on rotten tomatoes and metacritic. plus its average revenue per cinema is the worst since a bugs life (and that was when the company was not really as popular as today). I just dont understand why they didn't do a sequel to for example the incredibles (very highly rated) or finding nemo (massive revenue!).

So what do you people think?

Well it's easy.. while it's not the highest grossing at the movies... It's has the highest records for retail sales of merchandise based on a Disney/Pixar film...

It's just waaaay more popular with the kids.. You can still buy merchandise from Cars today..

Even so, I thought a monsters inc 2 or incredibles 2 would rake in the cash.

Yes but not in comparison with Cars... Cars sold more merchandise in 2008 then in 2006... lol come to think of it.. it's like Mario Kart Wii: good frontloaded sales (the cinema release) and incredible legs (merchandise)

Monster Inc 2 or Incredibles 2 would have great frontloaded sales and bad legs..

oh ok. Im just dissapointed that the pixar film i like least is getting a sequel.

I'd much rather have a Finding Nemo sequel.

I also like Monsters Inc more then cars but it's just business... Cars = $$$$

ah well. Monsters inc 2 would have been a good story, maybe see boo as a teenager or something lol
