I disagree with 9, 6, and 2.

Altair, because I enjoyed Assassin's Creed and didn't find the game boring like they said, Kratos because I personally have never played a game with Greek mythology in it other than God of War and Age of Mythology (and they're very different games), and Lara Croft simply because most people I know don't even like Tomb Raider games.

The reason why I do agree with 1 is because I first played Halo after countless other FPS games, and I just wasn't all that impressed. Master Chief looks cool, but that's pretty much it.

And yes, I know that this is my opinion. You should too. =)

Not going to address the rest of that article, but the segment for Kratos is pretty weakly written!

This guys clearly a Nintendo Fanboy. Picking on Sega,Sony and MS characters but not one Nintendo character?? Halo has books and is quite interesting. What about Link,Mario?? Same crap recycled every year. What about the boy/girl in Pokemon???

Donkey Kong is the first character on the list.

Mario should be on there. He's just a damn plumber with no special abilities or powers. His only power is he grows when he eats mushrooms that come out of floating boxes.

Kratos on this list ? Too bad he's just a videogame character, he would kick some asses at IGN !

We call that originality and personality.  It's the opposite of using knives and guns to kill kill kill everything you see.  He can also fly and shoot fireballs and ride dinosaurs and do all sorts of other interesting things.  How many plumbers and how many space marines are popular in gaming today?

Mario's one of the only characters in any game that seems to be having fun during his adventures, yelling WAHOO! as he jumps on his enemies.  He's just having a blast saving the world.  Master Chief is just silent and shoots everything, and Kratos is just emo frowning all the time 'cuz oh my god it's like soooooo hard being a God.

And @everybody who didn't read the article, it wasn't written by IGN.  It was voted on by the IGN readers.  Then IGN wrote up the descriptions to try to explain their choices.  But they didn't vote or decide on the list themselves.  Safe way for them to write up a list that will generate tons of hate and hits while protecting their own asses.

im pretty sure we dont know how God of war will end. Friggen butt hurt fanboy here cant relize that GoW is a great game.
