Great. Another must-buy Tekken for me.

This is not a troll post. I wanted to post about this video a couple days ago because I have always been a huge Tekken fan. In my opinion the pinnacle of the Tekken experience was Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament. Graphically I don't think the franchise has progressed too much further. And the gameplay is the same. This is one franchise that I think needs a complete retooling, or just put it to bed. Otherwise it will be just like the sports games, well the only real improvements each time around are different rosters.

I don't know where they should go with this one. This isn't so much a knock on the franchise as a whole, but just the reaffirmation that they really got it right with Tekken 3.

If it's not broken (and IMO best in its category - unless you count SSBB) why mess it up?

It still doesn't look as good as VF 5 or SC IV or DOA 4 even in visuals, but it's a huge improvement from the last videos. Remember this game is coming in 08 so this is not the final look you are seeing.

Tekken has to be the best fighting franchisse of all history....They have a greater diversity of different types of characters from power characters (heiheichi), caoperia(what breakdancing came from), trick characters (dr. B, Gon, yoshimitsu), judo(paul),  female characters, boxers( when was the last time that you saw bobbing and weaving in a fighting game to let you avoid those high/mid hits?), tae kwon doe -all kicks, power characters, speed characters (steve), in-between characters like jin, grappling characters which has never really been done well in a fighting game until tekken (king).

Tekken has always been my least favorite fighting game. The mechanics of it have just never appealed to me.

Not if you are a fighting fan.

There are 2 Wii fighting games worth getting so far in total: SSBB (very different from all these other fighting games) and Guilty Gear XX: AC (which supposedly is buggy and crap).

If you have a PS3:

SC IV, Tekken 6, Street Fighter II HD, Tekken 5: DR Online, Virtua Fighter 5...

If you have a 360:

SC IV, DOA 4, Street Fighter II HD, Virtua Fighter 5 Online....

I like Smash Bros. (not as much as others do, and much less than I like Zelda or Mario or even Metroid) but I really don't count it with the rest of these fighting games.
