Not quite. They see it more for people who don't play games all the time. A kiddie look would have been something different (trust me).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

The players are in essence the same just more "stylized". I dunno..I guess that the HD version would see more "realistic" (whatever..) and in the wii would be such a contrast. So to avoid competing directly on looks and set it appart, they decided to make it more "cool"..
..I guess.
I'm not a football fan. But personally I like the art style. I'll hold back on my criticism of the crowd and polygon count untill I see a bit more.

They better not do anything stupid to the rest of the sports games on Wii. Im skipping this got 09 anyways then again that All-Play shit was annoying. Probably get 08.>.

that is th eproblem with this game, its gfx are half way between real and cartoon. So there is a mix of art styles that just does not work. They need to pick a direction and go for it.
Good example of that is Ghostbusters. The Wii version committed to the cartoon art style and it has turned out good. The HD consoles committed ot gfx and it looks good. Each version worked to the strengths of the consoles.

Dude i reckon a lot of people here care about Madden (im from Europe and i care), its just seems silly for EA to go for that artsyle, especially after failed experiment with All-Play brand. Madden 09 is a quality titles that should've just been improved (build upon pick your own shots for example, which was an excellent mode) offer something differnt in terms of gameplay to HD twins. I really expected a solid graphics engine build from the ground for the Wii (and thats what we are getting) im just really suprised with the arcade side of it, because i think majority of american football fans want to see a game closer to reality.
I hope they dont do this to next Wii Fifa (but they still go for new engine) because i want to pick it up, since Konami simply does not care for Wii PES players. But i want a good football game not arcade-y experience.
It seems just that they do not want Wii version to compete sales wise with PS3 version for example.
