Artistic style over realism FTW!. Man I wish Konami would go back to their artistic style for their soccer games like they used to do back in the International Superstar Soccer days. Everybody had slightly bigger heads then they should so u could differentiate between the players.

In their new games (PES) u basically have 2 types of players, the white guy & the black guy, only way to differentiate is by position.

When you are dealing with consoles limited on specs, you need to pick artistic style over realism.  It is the only way a game holds up.  I need to see how this would work.  If you have a Wii, and it plays well, what does it matter?  The way they have it, you can make out who is the player is by the top being larger.

thank god i have a 360

golf is perfect for wii, football is too complex to do true wii controls

so give me graphics and sound thanks

If I was a football video game fan, I'd agree. The Wii controls work great for some games, but not for every type of game. You could always make the game play with the classic controller, but if you have PS3 or X360, then why not just get it on that.

The only thing that makes Madden for Wii more interesting in my opinion is if they extended the point/click receiver rout making on the fly. A truly cool feature that really makes the Wii version stand out, but since I haven't tried it I haven't decided if it is enough to sway my decision.

As for comparing the screenshots to the video. Well, you can't as the video is too low resolution. But as I pointed out, each year gets better and you can't argue that the graphics have gone backwards. Maybe you don't like the proportions, but that is no real reason to say the game looks like it is 5 years old, or from the PS1.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Old Atari football in the arcades has aged better than that:

I totally agree. PS1, and N64 age horribly, where as SNES and earlier age pretty decent.

EDIT: of course, there were other consoles in the PS1 generation, but I'm only familiar with PS1 and N64 games.

i didnt say it looked 5 years old or anything

just that itd look closer to the real thing on 360 i guess

the point click routes is actually really cool, i was unaware of that

football with wii controls could work, but only if you played one player per play, like you could throw as quarterback maybe etc

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

it does, lol, i just hadnt said it

i mean i love tiger 09 on wii, its the best golf game i ever played.  when i first put it in tho i was like 'oh its tiger 03 again from old xbox!'  laughed a bit, then had a blast

no point in denying wii graphics, they are total last gen and not even best of last gen (riddick, chaos theory, etc)

did i buy wii for graphics tho?  no so who cares?  i love ds, and it has garbage graphics many times

nintendo is fun not cutting edge

Yeah, I mentioned that.
It is almost necessary that the wii rely on cartoon because they can't match the graphics. It's a bit of a stretch to think that is what everyone wants but hey, it's been working so far.

I also said that this game should have been more deformed. But then again, that's my own personal taste. A bobble head style football would have been really fun if it was implemented correctly.

I think they're shooting for a 'cartoony' look to appeal to the younger Wii audience out there who normally wouldn't buy a 'hardcore' NFL game.

Anyone remember NFL 2k5 on PS2/Xbox?

They did this so why can't something with effort be done for Wii?
