Said already, but yeah, Front Mission.

I knew insanity was present at the heads of the company since this gen started. Way to ignore the biggest part of the audiences, unless of course this is being westernized and all the Japanese elements are being removed, in that case, then it's a good move (The insanity remark still stands)

Well a quick look through VGC shows that sales have never really got past 500k, on the PS2 as well, so it does seem insanity. Then again, SEGA claim Yakuza 3 broke even selling under 500k, so if SE already have an engine in place, then perhaps it can do okay, especially if it is PS360 and released WW. But anyway, in these times, they should really be making sure that they get those Final Fantastys out there

Although, Yakuza 3 doesn't have the costs of localization like SO4, TLR, etc.

Does anyone know if this is a traditional Front Mission?

Well given they have no even announced it as a Front Mission.....

Yeah I know, but how much will the localisation costs really be, they did a cheap job with IU, and they will probably do the same again, but you would expect it to need to sell 1m accross the platforms

I'm m going to ban anyone who says anything that's not about the game but purely whining about the platform and SE 360 exclusivity (while that's not even confirmed).

I'm sick and tired of the crying over Japanese sales of 360 JRPGs, when all people really care about is that the game is not on your system. That's indeed sad, but you can do two things:

a) Buy a 360
b) Don't play the game

You don't hear me whining about Valkyria Chronicles every single time, now do you? I'll simply buy a PS3 for that game eventually. Edit: I don't mean you outlaw, just noticed the VC example might make you feel that way.

You win... If there was one game to buy a PS3 for, just to play, that is it.

To people who have played front mission... they may have well shown picks of Mario.

What gives it away the most is the JDF wanzers in the far right corner.

Definitely Front Mission...

Yep.  Those are definitly wanzers.

I just hope it's still turn-based

Me too... maybe they'll go the super cheap route and remade FM5?

I'm not sure why they'd announce a SRPG at E3 though.  If it was a SRPG i'd expect it to be at TGS.

You're probably right. Everything it says in the mag seems to hint at it being different than the previous games. Even the trademarked name "Front Mission Evolved" signifies a departure from SRPG. Oh well...

Yeah.  I'm just a born pessimist myself.  I mean SE were saying they wanted to make more western oriented games and everything too.

Front Missions TPS.

Oh god.

Kinda my guess.  I'm expecting a "Mech Warrior" type game... but with squads.

Then...it may not be an RPG anyway. But Front Mission is a big series in Japan...it should be on PS3 too IMO... :3

Although...this is most likely a spinoff anyway. So I guess that might not matter too much.

@Munkeh

"Why can't they just dedicate these resources to Kingdom Hearts 3 instead"

Because they're dedicating resources to Versus XIII.

I'm not sure if anything qualfies as a Spinoff for Front Mission games.

They don't get the best budgets...

and Front Mission 5 basically was a Spinoff.

It took characters through the wars in the other Front Mission games.

Believe it or not.  This has a better chance of being exclusive if it is a SRPG.

Why?  Front Misson 3 did ok in the West (I believe).  Front Mission 4 blew it.  They wouldn't put Front Mission out in the west... and put that kind of money towards graphics (if in game) unless they had something protecting their investment.  Or at least i'd think so.

Well, there is still a FM, FM2, FM3, FM4, and FM5. I'd still think those are the main series and a subtitle like Evolved is something else.

If that's even the title of it...

and if evolved isn't a subtitle.

Afterall Front Mission 5 was...

Front Mission 5: Scars of War.

it could be Front Mission 6: Evolved.

I mean... there is enough history in the series for the subtitle to make sense.

I mean... evolved basically could of been the sub title to Front Mission 3.

I do think it won't be a SRPG.    But evolved would make a good subtitle considering the history of the series.

Well the fact that is will be released on the Xbox 360 means that we will def get in the west. I don't think a single Front Mission game has ever been released in Europe, so that is good news for us! I did play Front Mission 3, never really got into it, but I'm still excited about these news.

And for all of you who whine about Xbox 360 exclusive RPGs, get an Xbox! An arcade console doesn't cost that much. Hell, if anyone should be whining it is me! PS3 owners got Disgaea and Valkyria Chronicles and will get VersusXIII and White Night, but a PS3 console still costs much more than an Arcade X360.

You think SE would have learnt from the amazingly bad sales of TLR, IU and SO4 on the 360 but i guess they are wanting to go bankrupt these days!

Looks at TLR sales... Riiight they look ok to me. IU would have been better it was rushed unfortunately. Star Ocean 4 is doing ok I wish it was doign better but I will leave judgement on that one and ToV until after European launches.

Yeah, but i'm sure that they would have wanted better! I mean if the games were on both consoles then they would have easily had double the sales already!

We could say the same thing about any exclusive console or pc game though. You are right they would but unfortunately Publishers don't always want to risk losing money on a port or losing more money than they have. I would love it if we automatically knew it was multi as long as it was not published by nintendo/sony/microsoft. Wii would be exception because we all know there's many titles it simply cannot handle.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
