Forums - Sony - will u buy the "playstation 4" , if its controller is like the wiimote?

It baffles me that people only think of motion when talking about the Wiimote.

Even without motion the wiimote still has:

- IR pointer. Easy to understand and simple to use for the new gamer and a fantastic addition for FPS and RTS fans.

- 2 piece controller. Great at easing the learning curve of controllers for new gamers and definitely the most comfortable for traditional gamers (IMO).

- Speaker. This is the most underrated feature of the wiimote and more important than rumble in my opinion. Fantastic addition for local multiplayer games, Mario Kart uses this really well. With an improved speaker (and maybe a small video screen) I think a next gen speaker-mote will allow for some great gaming and streaming features.

Ehem most of your adventages can be summed up by "great and intuitive for new gamers" why should I care about this considering i spent last 20 years by gaming on various joysticks, keybords, mouses, gamepads or arcade sticks/cabinets ?

I'd rather take mouse than IR pointer.

No, no no.

Not if it is like the Wii. The Wii's motion control is horrible.

However, if it is VR or something along those lines, I'm in.

@scottie, to answer your question if motion controls are mandatory on either sony or m$'s systems then i wont buy their systems and will instead go with handheld gaming for my gaming needs. would i go gaming on a pc, if they have a option for a controler to play the game, then maybe i would choose that option. on ( 0 - 3 to choose from i choose "0" ). the only games i found that i love motion controls with were "legend of zelda:twilight princess" and "super mario galaxy" and "folklore".

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

Wrong.

All of my points can be summed up as "accessible for noobs and advances for traditional gamers".

"Why should I care about an analogue stick? I can use a d-pad"

"Why should I care about a d-pad? I can use a joystick"

"Why should I care about a joystick? I can use a keyboard"
