Really... is it?

I like this here. Nice people, fun users, good discussions... but I think the system used is not optimized.

I would never use this site to find information. If I want some info on a game, I search and find 50 different threads about it (to gather $) with 60% posts spam (to gather $), as also 3 in every 5 threads are completely useless, re-post or the same of 50 other threads.

I like the idea of good users achieve something back, but I don't think this is the best system.

If anything (at least IMO) it reflects status.

people spam for post count. If you want VG$, spamming is the stupidest idea as it is the slowest. Only 2 of the top 10 richest members spammed their way there.

Besides, the problems you posted are typical of all forums and were present on this forum long before VG$ was introduced and the forums were a lot smaller then too.

Yes, but I surely believe that someone that makes 3 good posts should have a better status than someone that makes 50 spam posts or create 50 different threads about the same issue. As far as I know, this system doesn't work that way.

Does anyone actually care how much they have? I've never even looked at my VGChartz $ apart from when IM was introduced and I was told I didn't have enough to get it.

you probably don't care about your post count either. Some people care about posts, some profile views, some VG$. I really just enjoy the friendly competition amongst the Prediction League and DB contributors.

Exactly.  vg$ exist to be akin to monopoly money for the prediction league.

i think they should make it where you get more vg money if you make a long post as opposed to just making a few words long posts.

but that encouranges excessive quoting just for VG$. Honestly I hate having more than 2 layers of quotes. All people have to do is click the delete row button when the carrat is within the quote box they want to delete.
