For me, WM+ is like a Wii 1.5: it's not a brand new system, but it's an update that will make HUGE impression and will find HUGE success, just like Wii two years ago and Wii Fit one year ago...

Anyway, i don't care about that kind of negativity: i remember what most people said about Nintendo before (and even after) DS and Wii came out, and they were always so wrong it's not even funny anymore, and certainly not important at all...

An anime style Golf game using WM+ would be big in Japan no doubt, but not Tiger Woods.  And no Golf games are annouced nor expected (except on PS3 where they have sold stronger despite a much smaller base).   Nintendo would do very well to release a new Mario Golf with MW+ this fall or at least New Play Control Mario Golf using it.

And just an FYI, since you're new.   I was one of the first and only to evangilize the Wii before/when it first came out, predicting it would dominate this gen.  I predicted Wii Fit would be enormous and usher in a new genre of fitness/wellness games.  I also predicted Wii Music would be successful but not a system seller like people expected.   So please don't lump me in with that Wii bashing crowd.   I love my Wii.

However Nintendo decided to sail the Blue Ocean and while it's vast and wonderful, it's also uncharted and they were bound to hit some unmarked shallows sooner or later.   While I'd love to see Nintendo merely succeed, it must be earned, these challenges must be overcome and if nothing else, they are setting the course for others to follow with both their successes and failures.

 

 

Just to let you know: i'm not new, i just don't post that often, because i don't have the time, and because english is my second language... but i do visit VGC everyday, and even was amongst the top Prediction League winners... back in 2007...

And i know you're a Wii owner... not always the most positive one, that's for sure, but i know you're not a basher, and i enjoy many of your posts anyway...

And just a small anecdote: back in 2005-06, i had a project, open a small videogame shop, dedicated to Nintendo and Nintendo only... i was sure DS and Wii were goin' to rock, but the problem was... i was the only one...

When i had contacts with people already in the business, lookin' for partnerships, most just laughed at me and thought i was a fool... and one of the most important shop managers here in Brussels even told me that Nintendo was nearly "out of business", that nobody would be interested in Wii, and that the PS3 would be like the second coming...

Three years later, his shop is full of Wii and DS games, and strangely, his fanboyish arrogance has now disappeared...

And i don't have a shop, i moved to something else... quite sad, but Brussels is a small town, and maybe not the right place for what i wanted to do anyway... but... back then, i also suggested my father to invest some money in Nintendo... two years later, he made profits of 450%: 30 or 40 times better than what Madoff offered, not bad for a fool like me...    :))

So my family may now buy Nintendo games for free for the rest of my life... and the only pride i've got, was to be right when 99% of the people were dead wrong... at least we were two, then...    :))
