Being in 3rd place is not good, console manufacturers aren't just vying for this generation at this point, they have to think about setting themselves up to run a good race in the next generation.

Unless Sony learns how to get more of their games to please more than Sony fetishists they have a problem.

ps3's sales are low because many probably didnt expect the price to be what it was now that the price is a tad bit lower(and will probably be lowered again by Oct/Nov) the sales will increase and beat 360 by the next year possibly year and a half
Not so sure about the Wii cuz the Wii is so far ahead now because of how cheap it is

This is an interesting question. I think being the underdog can be very motivating and I suspect Sony has learned some things about controlling hubris. All in all I suspect that the PS4 will be much more successful than the PS3 no matter what its final sales are. Sony got so full of themselves, and I don't htink they will make that mistake again.

Wow, I have to cosign Crazzy's post except for the last statement because I don't think the ps3 price cut would be early enough to turn the tide not to add that x360 could drop to $150.
