Ah, so you've poked your nose into the FE boards at GameFAQs, have you. I was on the RD board for a time, myself (mostly through my second RD playthrough).

Those folks can really suck the fun out of it.

Tired of hearing "Personal Experience Means Nothing" eh?

ha, i always find those who bitch that so and so is amazing character and that other person should never be used.

yea it can make sense in cases of shinon/rolf where you get at same time, available all same time and shinon is like 15 levels higher with good stats. But I like Rolf better, so if I use one of them it would be him. On my current playthrough using Leonardo this time, didn't use him at all first time through.

The problem is that some people can't distinguish that fun doesn't equal statistically better so lots of people make silly arguments.

there are just some characters that no matter how great i won't use. I hate Marcia's brother. and hell i used Lucia on a couple playthroughs in path of radiance and she would probably be considered worthless.

haven't used her in radiant dawn though cause she is like only in 3 chapters. its bullshit.

I actually like using the units that come in at far too low levels. Babying is awesome.

And they end out awesome too, which makes me love it even more. Additionally, people who come in late are cheerful units.

Fire Emblem 9 is still piece of cake though, and I'm at chapter 22 now... People like saying stuff like "hard mode is hard" and "troll thread is trollish", but I disagree - "Difficult mode is normal/slightly easy".

I buffed up my Nephenee with 3 Dragonshields. I saw her being def blessed (she's bad at STR though), so it was a good idea. None of the non-boss or "elites" (in the groups) can damage her. I essentially send her in, she tanks all of them, and my other units nuke them. As she never gets the kill exp, it doesn't overlevel her (as a matter of fact, she's lower than the rest).

My Ike (who is 1 level higher) couldn't deal a single piece of damage to her with steel weapons. That's insane!

Edit: In FE6-11, I generally use the units I like the most, no matter the stats. In FE4-5, most units are pretty dull - so I generally pick a lot more from their power (which is pretty obvious, as their differences are enourmous).

yea its always more fun when your characters are weak. i love sending three units all at one enemy to weaken it down and have my weakest do the finishing blow of like 3 damage

It usually sucks IMO.  Jill in RD is a pain to babysit because she can't kill easily and with the speed she starts with, she tends to get doubled way more than I'd like to see.  She also turns out brilliantly later so it's worth it.

And no, Karel is not cheerful.

the only reason i found jill, or finding jill (currenlty using her) to be a pain in radiant dawn is because i am also busy on trying to level up edward and leonardo. and i want to use zihark, but he gets so little experience and steals it all i don't want to use him.

this is why i like rpg's better, just pick guys you like and level them up. no worries about that stuff

Ah, units who come in late, and are underpowered. "Ests".

Jill needed babysitting? Not at all. Simply put her up on the side in the 2 part chapter, and she can kill 6 units with ease (fly down, fly back in same turn), getting her to a high level (like 19, which is higher than most).

I get most all my Part 1 units to 20 or 20/1 by the end of Part 1.  Spread your experience wisely and dump a couple you won't use (Meg... Fiona...) and it's easy.

Jill needs babysitting dearly when she rejoins in Part 3, not Part 1.
