I don't see why people are being so down on this guy. This is one of the most respectful PR statements I've heard in the last few months.

Only thing I can think of is that people are getting counfused with the Mircosoft PR stament about Wii users upgrading to the 360...

Former something....

Who says you HAVE to switch weapons and call in anything. All you need to do is walk aim shoot and reload to play the game.

Also I have played an Atari. It was easy sure. But whats not easy about a few different buttons and two sticks?

Also look at the PS3. What needs to be changed for the local market for the system? The default language is all. I can move to japan and still know the symbols for the controllers. Can you with the wii/360?

Also as I said, if my 4 year old cousin who is of average intelligence can play a PS3 and understand the controls fine. Then everyone should be able to. If you aren't then perhaps you have some sort of metal defect.

Oh one more thing about the shapes. The human mind is wonderful at remembering certain things. Learning shapes are the same as learning the names of animals. Do you know anybody who can't tell you what a bird/cat/dog/snake is? I am fairly certain everyone knows what an X and a Square and a Circle and Triangle are. Also they are color coded as well. So if you aren't color blind you can still fall back on to that.

Not switching weapons and calling in strikes/dogs, etc is like going through Super Mario Bros without using star power or fireballs. Sure, it could be done, but you're making the game much harder on yourself and ignoring part of what makes the game work.

As far as 2 sticks, everything is not necessarily easy. If you'd like a comparison, play Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube and then on the Wii. Try to get 10 headshots in with both. MUCH easier to do with the Wii controls. As for going to Japan with a 360 or Wii, yes, I could adapt to it because I know the button layout already, and at its core, letters are nothing but symbols, so I can map out what A and B were in the US and learn those letters that correspond to the same buttons in Japan. =) Why would you be travelling just to play videogames anyway?

Never underestimate the technological skill of a 4 year old, they're smarter than people 4 times their age and absorb information 10 times as quickly. Never assume that youth=ignorance. Truth of it is, the older you get the dumber you become, thus my initial point on older gamers and simple controls.

I doubt anyone has a "metal defect", unless their iron levels are off.

The funny thing about the human mind, as you discuss, is that it's like a hard drive. Great at storing things when you're young, but eventually wear and tear breaks it down, and you lose some memory sectors, and eventually you fill it up and have to erase stuff. Before you know it, you're only storing important info you need in life. The problem is, all those song lyrics you learned in high school are part of a a memory sector that can't be erased.

posted in my thread that I started 3 minutes too late.

A few things I noticed from the interview.

1. First time I've seen any Sony executive stating Wii is #1 and no spin. Kudos to Dille.

2. He actually gives kudos to Nintendo for "bringing more people into gaming" and states that Sony is going after that crowd.

3. Sony is still positioning PS3 as a digital entertainment hub and hope to entice the new gamers to "upgrade".

One final thought - We should expect a lot of announcement for casual crowds from Sony for PS3 this E3 if this is how Sony views as future for PS3.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Nope the PS2 had a better control system in RE4 then the wii.

And once again, I never said you would be great at the game with how I said you can play it. but it can be played that way. Also fireballs and star powers are not part of the controls. So that does not count.

In an FPS you shoot. That is all. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Also you are wrong, at such a young age like 4 it is hard to understand certain things as you would when you are older. You do learn faster then you do when you are older, But you have a much easier time understanding what to do when you are older. Ever see a child pretend to drive? They just go VROOOOM as in as fast as possible, and do not understand the concept of driving full. They can look at you and mimic your actions. But they do not understand how to do it. And They cannot learn that at such a young age.

GC +GC + Motion Controls = wii

PS2 x 28356786235872 +Motion controls = PS3

Seems like the PS3 is a wii on steroids eh?

Motion control sucks on ps3. It hardly has any games that use it  anyway...

R&C future TOD use it very well. As have other games I have played. Just because most games don't have it. Doesn't mean the system doesn't have it.

I thought it was a blast in Heavenly Sword using it to control missiles!  It was a bit frustrating at first, but once I got the hang of it.  Especially while playing Kai!

So in other words wii owners will graduate to ps3..

peter dille continues to get on my nerves.

WOAH WOAH WOAH

Did he just say that nintendo owned the wii????
