I usually don't want to question someone's intelligence in public, but considering your attacks I will make an exception.

A marketer would never try to reach the masses through hidden discussions on a small Amiga forum. People will specifically have to look for it or be linked to those discussions like is the case in here (which you applaud, not me).

Uh, but you do the same stuff here, and this is no small Amiga forum.  Plus you already said you were negotiating with Sony to get an Amiga OS on the PS3.  So it was another market you were hoping to sell to obviously, if not the primary one.  Plus you have an Amiga symbol in your avatar here, so its a special interest you are into.  In theory, if you did get an Amiga OS on mass produced hardware, it could be a tidy profit for whatever firm got the business, including your company Fun Computing.  Not to mention, since you were a mod there you'd probably be aware that the site "receives up to 1.6 million page views per month"  Source:  http://amigaworld.net/advertising/  So trying to make it sound so dinky is really not too fair.

Plus, you are banned on Neogaf, so obviously if you do this stuff here and at this Amiga site, its no more work then you were doing at marketing before.

And you probably should not question this person's intelligence.  Thats kinda rude dude.

Dedication and efficiency are different things, Mike.

As a general rule, when questioning anyone's intelligence it is better to avoid making such conceptual mistakes, else you might end up looking like a fool.

By the way, when are you writing on your sig that you have a vested interest on the success of Sony? That's a very important fact people need to know. Or maybe are you dishonest enough to hide that so your propaganda faces less opposition?

Evilbore is that way, Mike. I'm sure they'll appreciate your unbiased contribution.

On topic:

I did a little bit of research and albeit there are some small differences between drive specifications, it seems all 360 drives are 16 speed drives (SL).

Sadly there seems to be no manuals online currently with regard to the 360 drives, but I think it can be assumed they function similarly as other 16x drives.

Some specifications documents regarding Toshiba drives:

http://www.toshiba.com/taissdd/products.shtml

5,540 - 13,500 KByte/s (DVD, Dual Layer) for one of the x16 DVD drives.

Of course considering the 6.8 game data capacity, which is much lower than for a full normal DL DVD, worst case seektimes and average data transfer will be a little better. If they would have gone for 5 GB for example, they could have improved the averages further, for example.

I can't believe you are still trying!  After the thrashing you've taken and all this new information that has surfaced about you, and you're still trying to trick people with this crap?  Those toshiba drives are not the same as the DVD drives used in the 360, so you can't use data from them to back up your claims.

You've gotta quit "assuming" and only post solid, 360 specific evidence.

You mean, being honest? Cut the guy some slack, he's trying to cash in some money off Sony.

^You'd think he'd focus on the Wii then! I mean, he's got a physical therapy business on the up-start. You'd think he'd want a lot of people out flailing their limbs and needing treatment because of it.

I think you're being a little harsh guys, MikeB has at least made some concession that his speed averages he's previously posted were wrong and the 360 does not read DL disks at 8x as he previously thought.

I applaud you MikeB for making this small concession at least. If you want people to value any technical input you have it's always wise to back down from a stance if it is indeed wrong as the speed debate was. Well done and you've at least gained some respect in my eyes for it.

Is that concession worth anything if he starts right up with another misinformation link?

Also, he does this EVERY time.  It will wear on you, trust me.  He just isn't an honest person because of his other motives.

I seriously doubt that MikeB will ever be taken seriously here again.

"Message to all VGChartz members. When reading posts made by MikeB, please understand that he has a vested interest in Sony corporation, and has been in talks with Sony in an attempt to get the Amiga OS onto the Playstation hardware. He makes his misinformation to try and deceive you into favoring the PS3 over the 360. He is as biased as they come, because he and his personal company, Fun Computing, share a possibility to be quite profitable if Sony grows in marketshare. He was banned at Neogaf for doing these same deceiving tactics, and practices them currently on other forums as well."

I think its over.

Tease.

Any concession is a step in the right direction.  And I applaud you for being an optimist and for trying to encourage correct behavior through kind words.  But that said Mike's bad history is tremendously long and as recently as a few posts ago he was saying another member lacked intelligence.  By the same token (and probably beyond that)  I'd say its unfair to call others "harsh".
