@MikeB

Can you tell us about what I have heard described by some as your failed PS3 sales business?

If its correct that its a failed business to sell PS3 equipment, do you blame Microsoft for the failure somehow?  Is this part of your motivation behind your campaign against Xbox 360?

As I explained earlier, MikeB is part of the ugly side of the Amiga community. The part of the community that treated Amiga computerin like a religion, a cult. Microsoft was seen as the enemy by this cult in a very real way. MikeB getting involved with the PS3 gave him a new platform to evangelize, to try create a new cult based on a platform. MikeB railing against Microsoft carries over very easy, they are the enemy, they are heathens in his eyes.

Actually you can probably easily tell it is not only Microsoft he sees as an enemy and a heathen, look at his attacks on MorphOS users in this very thread.

The Fun Computing effort is no secret, like I have stated on Amiga forums. There were plans to take over Computer City and do some other stuff supporting various operating sytems including Amiga and Linux.

Me being an Amiga enthusiast and PS3 enthusiast, you can put things together. I contacted Sony about the possibility to explore oppertunities to have AmigaOS4.x properly supported on the PS3 hardware (IMO OS4 is in need of a cheap, mass available product for Amigans to return).

Sony's response was positive, but the Amiga situation is very complex. None of this is secret, as commented on by me on Amiga forums. There are no revelations here at all.

Some are upset I am a Physical Therapist, so shouldn't comment on technology. Others seem to be upset that I am a tech professional, thus shouldn't comment on technology. Make up your minds already.

Not at all, I see it as a fun hobby. That's what I wrote in my articles as well, AmigaOS4 is an interesting hobby OS for OS enthusiasts.

I didn't view the mass trolling against everything AmigaOS4 related as fun. Many MorphOS fans have been guilty of this, they have their own dedicated MOS forums (like MorphZone), yet many MOS fans penetrated all AmigaOS4 related forums with "AmigaOS4 sucks and MorphOS rocks" behaviour. For example there has been very little trolling on MorphOS forums from AmigaOS4 fans, IMO that's how it should be regarding websites covering a fun hobby.

So the bottom line is you are seeking to become a business partner with Sony to sell PS3 hardware, not only as a game system, but as a computer running AmigaOS.

So its in your business' interest for PS3 to flourish in general and Xbox to flounder as you want the PS3 install base to increase.

I said NOTHING about your profession as a physical therapist and you know it.  As far as your company, Fun Computing, it would be courteous in my view, from a full disclosure standpoint, that you put in your sig that you are negotiating (or attempting to negotiate) to be a business partner with Sony.

I am a physical therapist first and foremost (well the early Amiga investors were dentists). If some day in the future I can play a role in a constructive effort to have AmigaOS4 on the PS3 (or other systems), I would be happy to help. But like I stated on Amiga forums that's not in my hands.

This only for personal and community interests, I would love to be able to use AmigaOS4.x on my PS3 myself. I have put a lot of time, effort and money into my hobby, just like someone who may find it fun to collect and maintain old cars or Harley Davidson.

You say this is "only for personal and community interests".  But obviously if you have a business that you were planning to use to buy out another firm with (Computer City) and you used it to explore business opportunities with Sony that one of the personal interests you are trying to feed is making money.  The fact that it has not yet been successful, where you need to keep your day job, has nothing to do with addressing motivation.  Its in your interest, if your firm is ever to flourish, for PS3 to do well over the competition.  And given the content of your posting history its hard to believe this does not play a factor in what I and others view as your trolling.

Yeah fair play.

I shall try not to read his posts, they are antagonising to the extreme...

Everything I have ever done with regard to my Amiga hobby has always been non profit and this I think will forever remain this way. When a Hyperion manager asked me to demonstrate AmigaOS4 for 3SAT in Sweden I did so without expecting anything in return. Ben did offer me a free glass of orange juice in San Francisco though (I don't drink beer).

I thought it was cool (notice the smile on my face):

The Amiga community and potential is far too small to seriously think of making any real money in the short or mid term, I would be happy enough if there's enough of a market potential for the AmigaOS 4.x project to stay viable enough for commercial development (probably through embedded solutions, which I'm not really that interested for OS4 personally as an user).

I together with some big investors and partners are opening a new clinic next week. This is where I make my money, within 10 years we have plans to open 16 more clinics. I will be managing the startup process for various of these clinics (copying the current formula).
