so, just answered my door, as you do when the doorbell rings, but it wasnt as i expected the post, no, infact, i was greeted by two people in at least there 60's who had come to give me news about the coming appocalypse, thats right, a couple of fundies, having handed me a magazine (which i immediatley binned after they left) they procceded to tell me that there was another biblical like flood coming, and some other bs that i ignored, after politely telling them i had to attend to something, they left, but i mean wow, why do these nutjobs exist? have you ever had this happen to you?

they must not know their Bibles that well:

Genesis 9:11
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

A few years back Someone came to the door to try and spread Mormanism, but never about the Appocalypse

Another flood? What kind of bible were they reading?

Also... yeah... it's happened to me.

The worst though are fringe party extremists. People will not freaking let you go unless you sign up for their email chain or some shit.

I thought it was funny when a LDS Mormon missionary came to my house and I got him started talking about polygamy in the church and then he said that when Jesus comes back polygamy will be restored.  I told the other elders about that, and he probably got excommunicated or something.  lol.

guys, for real i find this offensive.

but on topic we used to have a dog that would chase them away. it was so funny.(it was a big dog btw)

To be fair I think that if they have the right to come up to our doors to spread their beliefs, we have the right to mock them for it.

Generally people around here are less extreme about it, two or three times a year (usually around Easter/Christmas) we have some fundies come door knocking and basically say they have some event going on, would you like to come?, heres a pamphlet. Bye.

So yeah, not too badly intrusive.

It's weird.

I mean we had door to doo people when i was a kid. (When it happened to me)

Was planning to drop waterbaloons while our friend talked to them... but we forgot his house had an awning.

Haven't had that in a while.

Now a days the "coverters" just tend to sit down in college campus' and the like with brochures... not even talking to people unless talked to first.

I like to pick up a free bible every now and again.   Feel bad for them sometimes.

Urgh our on campus converters are terrible. They're aggressive and rude, not only will they approach you, they simply don't take no as an answer.

They also use some pretty lowbrow trickery, for example one week all these posters went up advertising a guest speaker examing both sides of the creationism/evolution debate. Quite a few people turned up (I wasn't actually one of them) and as it turned out it was the fundies who had brought somebody in who basically spent the entire time mocking evolution and claiming the people who believed in evolution were crazy because it went against the bible.

Our student magazine's letters to the ed section was filled with complaints about the Christians for several months last year =P.

Must have been Jehovah witnesses*they're the apocalyptic type), mind you there not as bad as mormons, those people wont leave you alone till you slam a door on them.
