Man, this game is too short and too easy. I have yet to die and I'm on the fourth boss... and I've clocked less than four hours in the game.

It's a good game, just too bloody short.

Re-frickin-diculous.

5 hours, 16 minutes. Two deaths at the final boss otherwise I would have come in under 5 hours.

Great game, though. Every PS3 owner has to rent this game. I'll have a full write-up done in the next day or so once I let the game soak in a bit.

I will pick this up after I have spent some more time with Lair and with Warhawk. Too many games coming out that I want...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Are there no difficulty settings?

Nope. You have to beat the game once to unlock Hell Mode.

I played through chapter 1 today and I have to say the graphics are amazingly gorgeous. The facial animations really are incredible, too. It is sort of a button masher, but I don't always see that as a negative. I love doing the counters and throwing ppl in the air and then attacking them. The cannon part was also lots of fun, and you really get a kick out of throwing around dead bodies haha.

Here is my take on the game if any are interested:

Heavenly Sword is definately a good game and is definately a good place to start for good PS3 games.Havent finished it yet at the end of Chapter2 with Kai's sniper level.I hear its short...very short but its been well worth it so far.Graphics are very very very very very good and the big evil guy thats after the sword(his name escapes me) is so cool with the sarcasm and stuff its great.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

I'm surprised that after reading through this entire thread that so many people had difficulty with the Kai missions. On the shuttle-thing, I was shot at maybe 5 or 6 times total. I was wiping out entire squads before they even set up. It was a great time but a little on the easy side for me. It got to the point where I would only shoot people in the face just to make it a challenge.

Aftertouch is brilliant, though. It's good to see somone finally making use of the Sixaxis. It is, hands down, the most fun I have had with a PS3 game. I had myself in stitches at points trying to weave arrows around obstacles just to hit one particular guy.

Only decent music
Useless combos
Linear
Rinse & repeat gameplay
Corny puzzles
Short - Rent Only

For all the flaws you state, you still gave it an 8/10?  Seems there's a heavy tilt in there.
