Damn i haven't read the novels yet, got to get my hands on them as well :D
Cerberus was one of the associations that was least explored in the game but you could really feel that they had a grip on many things in the galaxy, so they playing a big role in the continuation will be a good thing to expect.
I didn't know that most people didn't realise that there was another force at large in the Citadel attack, mainly because the appeareance of Sovereign would have raised many doubts as wether if that could be another Geth construct or something different whatsoever.
Also there were other recordings of Sovereign, even in the attack of Eden Prime you could see him appearing in the Sky.
But that could play well in the role of the next game, because if people aren't expecting another force greater than the Geth, then that can give an impulse for an appearence of another agent of the Reapers, just like Saren. Or we can see a bunch of Indoctrinated subjects appearing in the second game as well.

Mass Effect was so well done that it made you believe Saren was behind the Reapers grand return. I just thought the shadow broker was a thug or a group of people. I had no idea anyone else would be involved, but the plot thickens!

I don't really think that I've done that kinda of thinking about the game, but whatever it is it's going to be EPIC.

honestly i think it will be like empire strikes back, and kotor 2 and take a darker turn, the reavers will be more apparent and things will seem bleak as hell at the end

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Yeah, but that's why i said that he was an agent of the reapers, he wasn't responsible for the reapers, he was just indoctrinated to do their bidding, even though that process was welcomed by Saren himself. The shadow broker having a bigger part on the plot than what was shown in the first game got me by surprise, but at the same time, there are a lot of behind-the-curtain forces and power struggles that have yet to be developed. Also something that has me itching for discovery is that in the visions that Sheppard had, one of the Reapers looked almost organic, since there is one picture of one of them opening something like a mouth and showing teeth, tongue and saliva. That got me thinking if the whole Reaper civilization is just a Syntethic construct with a 50.000 years developed A.I, or if there is another race that works with them as well.

I agree that Saren was an agent of the Reapers. I was just saying that I thought it was only Saren who was behind all of the chaos and lies. I think in the vision the reaper was destroying all things organic, not really that there was an organic Reaper. They are all synthetic and I believe there are other races who are subordinates to them. Just imagine how many races will be named by the time the 3rd Mass Effect debuts. That is crazy.

It is a vision of the Reapers destroying everything organic in the Protean planets, but take a look at this video:

At 0:06, you can see something like a mouth opening and an animal scream. That can be a Protean being ripped apart and screaming in agony, but it seems more like an Organic creature attacking. I really think that there are entire races working for the goals of the Reapers, some of them hoping to be spared against the whole galactic xenocide of the Reapers or some other undisclosed goal.

Of course there are other races that have been indoctrinated by the Reapers. If you talk to Vigil on Ilos, he explains the pattern of the Reapers, and how they usually destroy organic life from start to end:

  1. Use the Keepers to activate the Citadel Mass Relay to usher in the Reaper fleets
  2. Reapers destroy all opposition in the Serpent Nebula, and gain access to census data, intelligence, files, and other critical info concerning sentient races.
  3. Cut off communication/relays among all systems, leaving them alone and fragmented
  4. Systematically exterminate planets, one by one
  5. Indoctrinate primary and secondary species that are anti-Reaper, and release them as refugees to remaining colonies
  6. Harvest resources for hundreds of years
  7. Return to dark space, leaving a single vanguard to prepare for the Reapers' return in 50,000 years

So it's likely that the Prothean vision contained other indoctrinated species. Although we always hear about the Protheans, and their demise, it's likely there were other, lesser-known sentient species that lived alongside the Protheans, that were in the video, attacking the Protheans.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It'll be interesting to see if there really is just ONE Vanguard in the galaxy.

Though you'd thing if the Reapers left a second it would have assisted Sovereign.

Actually there really needs to be another Vanguard, or maybe another way for the Reapers to interact with the galaxy to continue to pave their return. With the keepers control overriden and the threat of the Citadel Relay neutralized, they would also have to find another way inside the galaxy, as i said in a previous post, another gigantic Mass Relay can be lying in wait in an unexplored part of the galaxy. Also, since we don't trully know the origins of the Mass Relays (Reaper origin or the first civilization origin), maybe the council races will find indications on how to build one of their own and launch a pre-emptive strike against the dormant Reapers.
