Never cheated to get an achievement... used a walkthrough guide once or twice but i'd rather figure things out for myself.

I see your points have virtually doubled recently Reask... hmm.... curious...

No all legit Koweniciki.

Although I am looking very hard at the BIA codes.

I just would not like to get banned so probably wont.

The missus is away all this week so happy days.

Couple of cans and no nagging heaven.

I never even used to check the achievements list before now I am checking all the time.

I blame you of course.

(rubs eyes)

Well I can answer for trophies which I guess is the same.
I do not cheat but I do look into faq, especially for those painfull trophies/achievements that require you to find 30 secret suitcase spread all over the game...
I however totally ignore guides when going for the first time through a game and just play it without any help, then once it is completed I go back to it for achievements...

I have cheated on a couple of games with online achievements/trophies that I felt were impossible to achieve any other way ( I had someone help me for 3 LOTR trophies ( no way you can legit get 35 kills with the warrior in 1 game. or 10 kills without dying with the Witchking).

But I don't like doing that for things that are achievable ( I kinda dislike those posts you see as soon as a new game is out where people ask for helps for online achievements ). It's one thing to get help for the crazy ones, but the regular ones, come on....( like those folks boosting in Warhawk or KZ2 because they are too lazy to earn medals/badges legit..)

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

@kowenicki

Dash of Destruction helped me overtake you ! :)

I think I do enjoy earning a win in a game without help. I think people have to understand that there is always going to be that one game that will make us get help in order to finish a level or the game itself. I like beating a level without help. However, there are times when I need to look through the walkthrough to figure out how to get to the next level. Everything doesn't always come to you easy in a video game. Sometimes you need a little assistance.

Using game walkthroughs is not cheating. Using glitches, lagging online games and hacking is cheating and people who do cheat online should be banned.

Umm.... Has anyone gotten the skulls on Halo 3 without a guide?

Come on, now. :P

Besides that, I haven't used guides or anything for any of the other achievements I've unlocked. If you click on the achievement though, doesn't it tell you a pretty blatant description of what to do? That's what I've noticed....

I've played the Halo 3 campaign twice and each of the other two game's campaigns once.

I've never actually seen a skull.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

only time i cheated was with graw 1

i had put it on ebay and had 3 days to finish it so i used cheats to complete game which also unlocked the acheivments for me.

I am with you on that one.

I also leave walkthroughs as a last resort.

One of the most recent ways to cheat for an achievement is in Gears of War 2. A good number of people have glitched their way to the top rank, even though it would take almost forever by conventional means to get the achievement. I don't think any developer should be putting in achievements that take time rather than skill or devotion to get.
