| makingmusic476 said: On the PSP side of things, I think we'll see: 1. LBP PSP finally shown off, and probably playable. It's being worked on by Sony Cambridge with assistance from Media Molecule, and it should turn out quite well. 2. A few new PSP games announced. They said earlier in the year that the games they had recently announced (LBP PSP, RB PSP, AC PSP, MS PSP, etc.) were less than 50% of things they have lined up for the PSP for the year. Of course, they hadn't announced the new Jak & Daxter at the time, but I think they'll have a few more tricks up their sleeve for E3. 3. PSP-4000/PSP2 will be unveiled. I'm not sure what it'll be, and what it'll include, but it'll be there. It may be an upgrade similar to that of the DSi over the DSL, or it may be a full generational leap akin to the DS over the GBA, but it'll be the biggest hardware change we've yet seen for the PSP. 4. Now this one I'm not so sure about, but I have a feeling it'll happen. Gran Turismo 4 Mobile will return, re-dubbed GT5 Mobile. It'll either be announced as a standard PSP title, or, if they are truly releasing a PSP2, a PSP2 launch title. Now onto ps3: 1. Trico! Yes, the game we've all been waiting for! It'll finally be unveiled! ...I think. It's been a long time coming, and they have to show it at some point, and this seems like the perfect place. My only doubts stem from the fact that SCEI tends to focus more on TGS than E3, so they may wait to unveil it there. However, E3 is slowly returning to its former glory, and it really is the place to be making any big announcements these days. Plus, I feel that TGS might just be too far away, unless they don't plan to release the game until late 2010 or possibly 2011. I highly doubt that's the case (or rather, I fear it to be the case =( ). 2. We'll see some other new ps3 games, though I'm not sure what. I think it's too soon to show off Starhawk, and David Jaffe confirmed on neogaf that his people won't be showing anything at E3, so that rules out Twisted Metal, but there are a few developers that have been awfully quiet as of late. Sony Liverpool, for example, has released nothing but Wipeout HD for PSN over the past 2.5 years. It's been long rumored that they've been working on a third person action title for a while, and we might see that, or something else from the team. And there are various other teams we may get some info out of. And who knows, we may actually get a teaser for Starhawk. 3. Gran Turismo 5 will finally return to the limelight, and we'll get a release time frame. God of War III will also be there, playable, and we'll also get a release time frame. Same goes for a few of their 2009 titles, like MAG and Heavy Rain. 4. White Knight Chronicles announced for the West, with a rough release date. Hopefully Demon's Souls will be announced for the West too, but I'm finding that more and more unlikely. Though I already imported it, so it doesn't effect me much. We may also see Sony get up on stage with SE and announce that the FFXIII demo will be on the Western release of FFVII: ACC, and thus the demo will be "exclusively on the ps3" haha. Then I'll feel like an ass for having spent way too much on importing the Japanese version, assuming we wouldn't get the demo for awhile. =x 5. A new ps3 SKU or two. Silver ps3 controllers are now up for pre-order at GameStop, set to release on June 24th, and it's quite apparent that the Silver ps3 will finally be making its way out of Japan, and we should see an announcement at E3. |
PSP:
1. Definitely true.
2. Also true. I'm pretty sure Sony already went on the record that they'll show them at e3.
3. I actually don't think this is going to happen. I'm not sure why, since Sony tends to constantly be announcing new PSP's, but I think it won't happen this time.
4. It might get announced, but I don't think it's being worked on, so it definitely will be smoke and mirrors, or merely a verbal announcement if it happens. 50/50
PS3:
1. I would fucking hope so! I can't wait for this damn game...whatever it ends up being. I definitely think it's a possibility, but I also think TGS is just as likely. I would say it's 100% getting unveiled at one or the other.
2. I think we'll get smoke and mirrors for Starhawk at e3.
3. I agree with GT5, GOWIII and Heavy Rain being there. I think MAG will be absent though, unless there's already been an announcement it'll appear.
4. I agree with White Knight Chronicles and Demon's Souls. I don't think there's going to be some demo announcement for the West for FF XIII though.
5. Yeah I think this is pretty solid. Hopefully they make a snazzy white PS3 also. Baby blue too so it can match my sneakers.
khuutra's predictions:
1. Maybe. I honestly don't think Nintendo gives a shit about pleasing the core when it comes to stuff like this. They know guys like you and I will be at their beck and call no matter what, longing for the next Zelda, Mario, or whatever. They'll just show whatever big they have to show. If it's another Wii Fit-esque title, then that's what it'll be.
2. It's quite possible, but I think Spirit Tracks will garner a lot of attention. They may choose that time to announce a DSi/Spirit Tracks holiday bundle as well (which I WILL be buying, if there is one lol).
3. It's likely.
4. Do you think this will be a core title as well? Honestly, most of Nintendo's new IPs this gen have focused more on the blue ocean crowd, while they've been reviving old franchises for us. Bring on Kid Icarus!
I wish... ='(
5. A new console Mario before a new console Zelda? Highly unlikely, in my opinion. We haven't had more than one console Mario per gen since the SNES days, and it's been over 2.5 years since TP, compared to merely 1.5 years since SMG. A new handheld Mario, however, is feasible.
6. Quite probable, including the riot.
7. Don't know much about this, so I won't comment lol.
8. If this happens, it'd probably happen at TGS. I can't think of much SE has announced at E3 aside from FFXIII, and that was back when E3 was still the mother of all trade shows.
9.
Hey now, keep in mind that Starfox would also fulfill one of those.
But then I didn't bet on any series in particular, now did I!?

Bolded #1:
That's what I said last year. =/
Bolded #2:
Like I said, Starhawk probably won't get shown. I think something for the ps3 from SCEWWS will be, however, in addition to Trico (assuming Trico is shown). I'm basically saying Sony will announce a new title that is not Trico. It could be Starhawk, it could be whatever Sony Liverpool's working on, or it could be something else entirely. But there will be something.
Bolded #3:
MAG is actually being shown at the pre-E3 show. Plus, all signs point to a November-ish release (including a few "signs" I have private access to), so I really doubt it won't be at E3.
^ You also never specified whether I talked to your dog, girlfriend or boyfriend on MSN last night.
Tease.

So then it technically wasn't cheating?

Neat predictions for the most part. Totally disagree with FF and Zune HD unveiling though.
