I've never bought map packs ever. The only other game that I was part of a clan gave all their map packs/upgrades away for free.

So, $3/map is too expensive for my blood.

Ahh! thats why you thought it was expensive. Yeah most map packs are anywhere (just checked psn) from 9.99 to 3.99 for DLC. So this "is" not a bad deal

The latest expansion pack for Halo 3 seems quite reasonable in contrast. Not only 3 maps, but you can create your own maps and more with it.

Well call of duty maps are 2.50 a map so eventually its only 50 cents more per map. Plus the killzone maps have a lot of interactivity with the environments so thats a plus. :)
