The new, polarised light, 3D technology could have some interesting implications for game development.
One of them is a bit obvious: that's 3D gaming. Too obvious maybe.
But there are more.
See, the way this works is you project two images on the screen with different porarisations, and you wear glasses to separate the images out again, so the left eye sees one image and the right eye sees another.
But what if, instead of different polarisations for each eye, you used different polarisations for each player?
It means that with one screen, each player sees different things. So no more need for split screen multiplayer - and the trouble with split screen has always been that you can see what the other guy is doing and where he is.
This way, each player would see only his point of view, and not what the other player is up to. That should add ton of good, and a strong stealth element, to multiplayer shooters and racing, and add proper multiplayer co-op to RPGs/adventurers.
