i cant tell u how many times i get stuck in a game and have to quit or go to my PC to look up a walkthrough or something would be nice if we could pause and check up things real quick but i dont think it will happen this gen

- Automatic background syncing of trophies when they're unlocked.

- When the indicator in the top corner is showing for unlocking a trophy, or receiving a message, holding down the PS button should open said message, or bring up trophy details.

- An ability to open up a cache that reserves ~500mb on the HDD to allow for faster XMB loading, faster info on people's profiles (rather than redownloading trophy information every time, it stores trophy information already downloaded), faster loading of friend list, etc.

- A search function for the music section.

- Changing the way updates work. Instead of forcing everyone to download a new firmware for every little bug fix, there should be an "Update Centre" in the "System" section of the XMB. This should work much like it does on a PC with three different levels of importance: Critical, Recommended, and Extra. Critical updates issue big changes to the system, these are forced downloads. Recommended downloads are optional but add features that people have been hankering for. Extra will just be things like new video codecs, or support for new audio files, iPod support (real iPod support), updates to the browser, etc.

I have many other dreams for the PS3, but these would keep me happy for a long time.

a new mail message

so often i accidentally stumble across a message 3 weeks old... a small envelope in the corner of the screen that won't go away until you check your mail would be good for this.

you do know that a little icon sits next to the person who sent you a message indicating they sent you one? Not the best, if you are looking to see who is online it is right there.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

This thread's made like atleast twice a week on the PS Forums, XD

Anyway. Trophies load up alot quicker now on the profile cards... but there's still room for improvement there.

I quick reference of a person's trophy level and precentage right under the name would be cool, similar to how they show the game the person is currently playing.

Still waiting for MKV support but these days it feels like there's no point in even mentioning it.

Move the battery indicator to the bottom right or upper left of the screen when you hit the PS button... I hate how it blocks the time and I have to wait a few seconds to see it...

I'd also like to have get to a person's message list by pressing square rather then pressing triangle and going to Message List to see messages we've sent to each other. Perhaps they could switch the profile/trophy card to square and place the message list back to X.... this shouldn't be hard to do at all, right???

That's about it for now. I'm sure we'll get voice chat at some point and I know alot of the people in this thread probably already said that.

yeah, i know, but its hidden away, i'd have to look for it to find out, kinda defeats the point of having the little envolope if you don't see it most of the itme.

I've always liked the idea of having it so that a tap on the "X" button brought out the messages side-panel, and holding "X" down to bring up their profile.
