Forums - Sony - Trophies on PSP? Did i win?

Been reading much speculation recently about the possibility that the PS3 award system - Trophies - may be making the platform leap across to the PSP.

well, there's been no answers to this, but if you have been playing the awesomeness that is Resistance Retribution on the PSP, you may have been unlocking skill points...

If you haven't, it goes a little something like this:

*shoot shoot shoot*

"woo! killed lots of baddies!"

*skill point unlocked - destroyed a bridge killing 3 Chimera*

"ooh, nifty, that's a little like... Hey wait a minute!"

So is this it? are Trophies happening? will a patch be released to show off your 'skill points' in the XMB?

Well, Uncharted did the same thing, so you could be right

Well, the way I see it, the main obstacle is the sheer number of CFW PSPs.

Btw, is that Pepe in your avatar?

Actually, come to think about it. Since the PSP is so old, wouldn't it make much more sense for the PSP2 to have trophies, so that every game has them, and also makes PSP2 games more attractive?

Good point, Rainbird, true as well.

i really don't think there'll be a PSP2 just yet, they're too busy revitalising the PSP market with LBP PSP, Motorstorm, Resistance...

i think it's a PSP renovation, probably a PSP 4000, maybe even UMDless, but running in parallel to the PSP.

Resistance: Fall of Man had skill points that never turned into "Trophies", as did the PS3 Ratchet and Clanks.

Ratchet and clank on ps2 had skill points too.

Edit: There is still a good chance it will happen sometime in the future though as it seems to be the way things are going.

you are crushing my dreams
