Not that you aren't already a dilusioned fanboy, but the $400 360 comes with an HDMI cable already. The controller can use rechargable AA batteries, and wireless networking for gaming just isn't the best option unless it is the ONLY option.
Even the most expensive PS3's don't come with HDMI cables included unless they have changed something recently.
Oh and the PS3's are not backwards compatible with PS2 games anymore. I highly doubt you own a 360 given your statements... clearly you jumped out of the past from about 2 years ago with numbers like this.
=/
So, since he already has a 360 I don't think he needs a cost breakdown, but if someone were to buy a new console the rundown would be as follows:
360 Arcade + 20gb & 3 months of Live via MS deal = $229
HDMI Cable = $51 (actual good ones bought online are only like $16, but I'm going by your example number here)
Xbox Live 13 month card = $30-40
Wireless Adapter or access point = Free on up to about $80 if you actually buy the MS one.
Looks like an Xbox 360 with HDMI, 16 months of Live, 20gb HDD, and Wireless only costs about $310 if you have a spare wireless router, and only as high as $390 if you actually buy the official MS one.
I'd go with the cheaper HDMI cables bought online and the free wireless route and end up only spending ~$280 for the full package, then use that extra $120 on games.
Enough of this nonsense. If the OP is seriously making a thread about this, he has already mostly made up his own mind on the decision.
