Convince me to buy a PS3!

Really the main reasons to get a PS3 are the constant onslaught of great games and Blu Ray. The price is high, so maybe if you don't game that much, wait and see if theres a price drop in the next 6 months to a year. But get a PS3 for Gran Turismo 5. I know you said you suck at driving games, but its a must have. You won't get better till you play them.

If he sucks at driving games, you should recommend an arcade type racer the likes of the old Need for Speed games.  GT and Forza and all the racing sim games would be a very bad idea for someone like him.  They are too realistic and at least in my eyes (another person who sucks at all racing games other than arcade ones) that takes the fun out of it when you have to break a mile before the turn, and your acceleration is limited, etc. etc.
