Forums - Nintendo - Wiiware needs to take a step up badly!

Party Fun Pirate? Crystal Defenders R1?

We have to wait a week for a "single" new game to come out and they are shit!  Party Fun Pirate looks like my 1 year old son could make a better game then that.  Crystal Defenders R1... Wow I can play Tower Defense Flash games for free on the internet that are just as good.  I'm not paying 8 dollars for shit.  What is it with only one game at a time?  If there are other games that are ready to be released, release the damn things.  Bubble Bobble Plus classic arcade game is ready right now!  Why can't they give it to us?   On the other side, I do see a few games that look good in the future Explodemon, Swords and Soldiers, Bubble Bobble Plus, Night Game and Furry Legends doesn't look to bad.  The point is, they need to give us more things like Lost Winds or World of Goo.  I am tired of not wanting anything that gets offered week in and week out.

Anyone agree with me here?

no...

there is more to gaming then just what you want and feel entitled to

there are more games on there then that and those

Yeah, it seems the quality of games have dropped off big time overall in the past few months (except for maybe Onslaught, which is pretty good), especially when comparing it to the likes of XBLA and PSN (yes, I know there's a huge difference there, but it should be compared). Nintendo needs to step it up with its WiiWare service if it wants to compete with its competitiors' online portions.

@KylieDog
Doesn't help that they are adding flash support to WiiWare.

Crystal Defenders R1 looks pretty good...
But that's because I'm comparing it to the Star Craft Map "Tower Defence".

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

Your game collection suggests that you own a mere 11 downloadable games.

Ignroing VC, I recommend you purchase World of Goo obviously, Defend Your Castle, Art Style: Orbient, Strong bad's Cool Game for Attractive People if that floats your boat.

I agree with the thread. I look at a few of the games released on Xbox Live and there are so many better options than WiiWare. There have only been a few games on WiiWare that even interested me. It also doesn't help that because of hardware limitations on the Wii, it doesn't feature downloadable demos to try the game out. Some of the games on WW are $10-15 equivalent. I don't want to spend that if I can't even try the game first.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

I have World of Goo on my PC, I don't need it for my wii.  I can also play Defend Your Castle online for free.   Art Style games are not my cup of tee.  Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People interests me, but would I have to buy all 5 to complete it?  If so I am not spending $50 for a game like that.  I may give Strong Bad games a try, but 1000 points a pop is a little steep

@ coasterlove - which hardware limitation of the Wii prevents the downloading off free things off the Wii Shop Channel. I mean, I was pretty sure I had done exactly that, my memory is so bad

I think WiiWare has been pretty good.

And it also has a currently huge list of games that promise to be pretty good.

Cave Story
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord
Eternity's Child
Explodemon
Eduardo the Samurai Toaster
Final Fantasy 4: The After Years
Icarian: Kindred Spirits
Last Flight
Military Madness
Night Game
Swords and Soldiers

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

There really isn't any need for sarcasm, is there? And I was speaking of demos fo games. Maybe I missed it and there are demos? Also, if it isn't hardware limitations that stopped them from giving game demos, it doesn't really matter seeing as they haven't done it for whatever reason.
