The rumors were right. Microsoft is releasing a "Game Of The Year Bundle" including the Xbox 360 Elite, Halo 3 and Fable 2 for $400—the same price of the standalone Elite console. It's not an AMAZING deal, but if you're looking to "jump in" to the Xbox 360, these are games you'll want to play anyway. The bundle should be available anytime between now and soon. Nothing against Halo 3 and Fable 2 but I still think that the red elite bundle that comes with RE5 and a free download of SSFT HD is a much better deal for the same price.

Personally, I agree with you at least in the sense that's the deal I'd rather get. However, moneywise, I would think this new deal is better for people. Also, Microsoft surely wants to push their major franchise Halo since the game is older now and not moving much.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

No they want to push sales of XBOX 360's

Packing in these two games will help with that for sure

Maybe as well they want to push Halo 3 sales to the 10mil mark? Its almost at 9.5mil. and with this bundle to help push system sales, its like killing 2 birds with one stone. (No birds will be harmed in the process)

MS is looking to phase out the Elites, this is a good way to do it.

I doubt they'll care about that one.. They're just using the Halo name to push more consoles
