Forums - Nintendo - Project H.A.M.M.E.R officially cancelled.

That screenshot is over a year old if I recall. Fact is we know absolutely nothing about Disaster that we didn't know at the Wii's first E3. This game could be an Action RPG or a stair climbing simulator for all we know.

Mmmm, stair climbing simulator.

GO GO GO
Now 2 steps at a time
There's no next 4 steps, you gotta jump!
Foot Shuffle Bonus! 500 points!
Oh no, the run speed goes to 11!

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

Well, Kber, this wasn't a hotly anticipated game so there really aren't going to be a bunch of people coming unglued at the seams because it's cancelled. If it were a highly hyped game like SMG or MP3 getting a composite score in the 5.X area (Like Lair, for instance), then yeah, you'll have some tasty flamebait. This is weak, though. Better luck next time.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

More people are interested in Disaster than they are HAMMER, myself included. But, why is that? We have only seen a 15sec clip on Disaster. With HAMMER, we had a full demo. It is mostly because we Imagine that the games will turn out GODLY. They will be the NEXT BIG THING. No matter what, it will be AWESOME. For all we know, Nintendo cancelled it because it just wasn't good. Why is it that most people can't consider such things? In the end, though, I think it is just easier for people to blame Nintendo for cancelling games that we knew little to nothing about. It would be a different story if, for example, Mario Galaxy were cancelled, because we have seen tons of videos and demos for the game. We have already drawn conclusions, based on impressions of the game, on the game. When something like that happens, then I will cry foul. The Less you have seen, the more excited you are: HAMMER(demo)-mildly excited Disaster(15sec clip)-very excited Sadness(Concept)-OMFG *Migrating my comments to the second page.

What crappy screenshot? Maybe now I will get less excited.

I suppose it's not that bad, but it's also just one, probably leaked screenshot, from an early build in February. Probably not indicative of the final product.

I remember that screenshot. I didn't know it was about Disaster. Everyone was saying it looked like PS1 graphics.

Also Don, there's the whole part about Nintendo buying Monolith. I can't imagine them buying the company if the main game they were working on wasn't very good.

Well, at least Wii owners can look forward to Mario Party 9 and Wii fit. Sorry if that seems trollish, but I'm pissed.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.... Only 1 party game and 1 fitness game....

Granny sure is going to be upset when Nintendo rolls out Mario Kart Wii, Pikmin 3, Zelda Wii, Wave Race Wii, Kirby Wii, Animal Crossing Wii, F-Zero Wii, just to name a few known returning games(no new IP announcements yet).

No loving from Nintendo...

Yeah. There is a rumor that they are the ones working on Disaster now, as well as the so-called FF killer RPG.

Unless Disaster turns out to be a Shooter RPG(+1 for Japan, +1 for NA+EU).

I thought this was cancelled months ago. Nintendo is just being quiet on it - this press release was just the cancelling of the Japanese release date.

Although the game looked interested (and may appeal to the "hardcore" crowd - mechs, robots and a lot of smashing) - I never thought this could be a big seller. Ninty are just diverting resources, thats all.

Smart. Nah, a purposely trollish comment was just ACCIDENTLY inaccurate. Well, anyways, most of the titles you've named are just continuations of franchises and fans have little to no info on them.

Yes, "Zelda Wii", that's a game to look forward to. After all, there might be another Zelda game made, and you know you're going to buy it.
