So I just installed NoScript due to all the issues with the site lately (been meaning to for forever just never did >_>) but I was wondering if I should allow vgchartz.com?  I was guessing no since I figured that's where the problem is but wasn't too sure.  So far the only things it stop me from doing (that I've noticed) is create new threads (had to temporarily allow script) and I can't use the links under the VGChartz banner which I'm not too terribly worried about.

whoops, didn't mean to make another post, I was just testing if I could still post with VGChartz blocked and apparently I can (and edit too). :-p Though I did lose the Rich Text Reply...SWEET!! ^^

I personally have been keeping it blocked for now till things get fixed up if I had to take a guess though I'd say its safe to turn the scripts on for vgchartz. Like you mentioned the features that it disables aren't important enough to me currently to lose that ever so slight peace of mind. The bulk of the problem is from the scripts mentioned in all the other threads currently the one showing for me is symboliclynx as far as malware scripts go. I did make sure to move that to the untrusted list so I don't inadvertently click it on or something.
