I have a 60gb ps3 and missed out on a ps2 in its days because I owned a gamecube. Thought I pick up a rpg from da ps2 collection. You guys wanna help me out i was thinking between final fantasy 12 or dragon quest 8 and how do ps2 games look anyway on a HD screen mynes is 37" LG 720p.  Thx a lot!!

DQ8 is a very good RPG if you like the classic genre
FFXII is a very well made game and is of great quality

It depends what kind of RPG you want but you won't be wrong choosing either one of those games

really good the ps3 support upscaling.

i think you will enjoy FF 12 more it's more epic have a nicer battley system

dragon quest 8 its more animeish, and classic storyline and battle system.

Final Fantasy XII was a really great game from beginning to end

Dragon Quest VIII was a good turn based rpg

I would go with FFXII but try DQVIII when you get the chance

Easily FF XII because DQ VIII is pretty terrible. Ah, and don't get KH1 if you plan to. Go with KH2.

Lemme ask you, Nexzen, what do you like in an RPG? FFXII is very different from the norm, while DQVIII practically defines the norm.

I'm known as a pretty big FF XII adversary (I won't say hater, because I don't hate it), and I'm telling you, get it. So much more enjoyable than DQ VIII.

If you can no longer stand antiquated random encounters and are more interested in fresh thinking: FFXII

 i was having doubts on dragon quests old school battle system then again final fantasies new one seems interesting yet awkward as well. Which one has a better story? i want a rpg with a good story, memorable you know and also fun and addicting at the same time the gameplay.
