Ultimately the most pertinent of NJ5's points is the one indicating that you will never concede defeat no matter how incorrect you are proven to be.  You simply turn up spouting the same drivel in new threads a day or two later.

Your greatest hypocrisy is to be the most ardent critic of misinformation and bias whilst simultaneously swallowing and regurgitating Sony's crap about some supposed generational gap between consoles graphically speaking.

This is without even mentioning your proclivity to belief fanciful pipe-dreams over the harsh realities of console cycles and economics, two things you seem highly ignorant of.  The way you cherry pick peoples posts to avoid dealing with the crux of their claims and the evidence they present is ridiculous.

perhaps you could give us an example of when you were proven wrong and admitted it then? 

or perhaps you are never wrong and thus perfect?

For example, I admitted that I was wrong with regard to expecting a PS3 price cut on entry pricing for last year. Obviously I was very wrong with regard to this, as this still hasn't happened (but I didn't expect the Yen to be so strong in comparison to other currencies as well).

Within warranty if there's any problem they will. You have a contract with your dealer, so in any case it's not something for you to worry about.

Out of warranty, the most common problem seems to have been loose screws with regard to the PS2 drive. A repair shop (it's so simple, most dealers probably included) should be easily able to tighten them or alternatively there are DOY articles on the internet.

Disc read error killed 1 of my ps2s and the other 2 got fried in barely over a year of use.

Microsoft gives you a 3 YEAR WARRANTY.....not a measly 30 days

Sony should be ashamed of theselves, and mikeB, you should be ashamed of yourself for defending them.

That's not legal here in Europe, if that's legal for your country IMO take it up with the government in an effort to change the laws (companies will always try to do what costs them as less as possible money).

PS3 warranty through dealers is 3 years here in the EU (edit: 2 years bare minimum in the EU, buy here in the Netherlands and its at least 3 years for a PS3).

Microsoft gives you a 3 YEAR WARRANTY....

Europe used to have a 1 year waranty for electronics but since the EU enforced a new law it was extended to 2 years and thats for all electronics not only Sony ones.

This part i am not sure is true but if i recall correcly then the second year warranty is only valid if you can prove the fault of the electronic was there during the first year.

I used to work in an electronics shop so I know about warrantieswhich is were we made the best money by selling extended warranty and if there were a 3 year warranty in EU we wouldn´t be able to sell a 3 year extended warranty.
