I wish to bring to the attention of all those who may be unfamiliar with MikeB a few home truths. He is perhaps the worst kind of fanboy. One who through self-control never resorts to swearing, silly pictures, or discrimination, and yet blindly, unswervingly, and without remorse cannot concede wrongdoing or anything less than complete superiority when it comes to Sony.

There are many die-hard PS3 fans out there who are reasonable. Hopeful, but reasonable. As recently as two months ago, MikeB was predicting the PS3 would sell 140 million consoles lifetime, eventually outselling the Wii.

Yes, for example I personally criticized many early PS3 games for underutilizing the Cell's SPUs. However I think my overal perspective with regard to this was already realistic years before the PS3 launched, stating it would take a while considering the state of legacy gaming engines at the time.



Certainly, many weird mistakes and quotes have been made, IMO especially from some SCEA spokes people, also IMO plain awful early marketing efforts.

I had 3 ps2 machines die on me and sony NEVER replaced any of them.

from what I have seen of mikeb's posts I would agree with this as well.

perhaps you could give us an example of when you were proven wrong and admitted it then?

Within warranty if there's any problem they will. You have a contract with your dealer, so in any case it's not something for you to worry about.

Out of warranty, the most common problem seems to have been loose screws with regard to the PS2 drive. A repair shop (it's so simple, most dealers probably included) should be easily able to tighten them or alternatively there are DOY articles on the internet.

The problem is that the fanboys of each company think that they are the most impartial, the most reasonable and "capable of self reflection", but all of them behave the same way. They attack the other companies, or the one that they believe is the rival of the console they love. They think that they are impartial, but at the same time, the fanboys of the rival companies are the worst in the world, spreading FUD and misinformation. And usually, the fanboys of the company that is in the worst position are the most vocal, because they need to defend more aggressively their believing.

Let's try to grow up, and please, realize that every console has it's pros and it's cons, and no one is the absolute best. Everyone has his tastes, and must be respected because no one has the absolute truth. We are talking about videogames, not politics or religion.
